My customer service experience with amerifreight has been beyond excellent. However, It's unfortunate that the third party transport company, united auto transport, outsourced by amerifreight to ship my car and my boyfriend's car cross country seem to be the most corrupt and dishonest people to walk the earth. First, united auto transport was a day late in picking up our cars. When they were able to come pick up the cars, the one driver, nadir, asked if he could come pick up the cars the night before the newly scheduled day to avoid weekend traffic. We were a bit apprehensive about having the cars picked up at night due to the drivers having to appraise the condition of the cars in not the best light but nadir was convincing on how much he was helping him out to come at night. Before the cars were picked up, they were washed, waxed, and photographed on all sides along with the interior ( specifically the odometers) to document their condition before leaving our CT residence. My car is a 2012 VW GTI which I am incredibly meticulous about keeping maintained and looking like the day I brought it home from the dealership. Nadir and his buddy showed up in a Toyota landcruiser that looked as if a bomb hit it ( pun intended Nadir and Margee ) pulling the sketchiest trailer...flag number 1. They get out, appraise the cars. My VW was noted for only 2 small scratches on the rim ( which I was aware of ) and ZERO body damage. The other guy goes to get in my car to load it onto the trailer and replies, ' Uh oh. This stick. Can't drive stick."...flag number 2. We should have received a discount as my boyfriend had to load the car onto the trailer. Yes, my boyfriend had to do their job...flag 3. We settle up with nadir telling us we are in good hands. Ha! Fast forward to the delivery...3 days late! Both cars were delivered FILTHY!!!! My boyfriend's car was delivered with half of the key broken off inside the ignition. As soon as we had seen my car we knew something was off as there was masking tape residue all over the back of the car. As I got inside, the interior smelled very strong of paint. After closer inspection, we had discovered paint overspray on my back window, rear tire and rim, inside the rear gate's trim, and blatant masking tape lines that showed signs of a repaint. Basically, MY CAR WAS HIT IN THE REAR DURING TRANSPORT AND WAS POORLY REPAINTED TO COVER THE DAMAGE!!!! The rear hatch now does not close properly and the rear tail light is loose. Mechanically, The engine bay and interior smell strong of burnt clutch ( and paint ). My horn is also not working right for some reason. Needless to say, my car is going to VW for an inspection. After reporting this to Ali and Jorge at Amerifreight, they have been going above and beyond to help correct this for us. Being available after business hours and keeping us updated. Luckily, we purchased additional GAP insurance for my GTI. However, the new challenge we are working through is that UNITED AUTO TRANSPORT HAD PROVIDED AN EXPIRED INSURANCE POLICY. We cannot go forward with repairing my car until Margee at United Auto Transport provides a valid policy . . . If one exists. I hope to hear good news from Jorge at Amerifreight soon so we can get my little GTI back to the showroom condition it was in before being left in the dishonest hands of United Auto Transport.
