Dissatisfied

My wife and I recently had a car shipped from California to Florida as a part of our military move and were very dissatisfied with the service received. I've used your services before, shipping the same car from New York and was very pleased with the outcome. That's why I am so confused. What happened??
On this most recent shipment, I signed a contract with a Cash on Delivery amount of $750, but when I received an email from the actual carrier, their invoice quoted me a Cash on Delivery of $775. I called 866-853-1970 and spoke with a man, explained the situation, and he said that the carrier requested additional funds for the car to be picked up on the requested dates and that I should pay the $775 and ATL would refund the additional $25 charged to me in error. Its been over three weeks and I have yet to see any sort of refund. I've called at least a dozen times and have yet to have a message responded to.
Moreover, the carrier picked my car up on the Tuesday Sept 22nd and said it would take 5-7 days to get to our destination. We were worried about not being able to be there for delivery in Jax because the home movers were coming the 23rd, but were assured by the carrier's dispatcher that there is a lot in Florida where the car could be stored for up to an additional 2 days. Well, we got a call from the driver on the 24th saying that he would be in Jax on the 25th. That was only 4 days after pick up and we were barely out of California. How can a shipping company expect a moving family to drive across country in 3 days. I understand its how they make money but I'm NOT going to drive 18 hours a day to rush to my destination especially when I've been told there is no need for concern. I mentioned "the lot" the dispatcher assured me of and the driver never heard of it. He was only concerned with getting his money. The driver went as far as to text me his Wells Fargo account info to transfer payment so he could leave the vehicle at the destination. So unprofessional. I had to scramble a friend of a friend who was willing to front me the $775 and receive the car on my behalf.
It was so unbelievably frustrating to try and figure out all of this while driving with spotty reception in Arizona. As a consumer I don't expect to payed almost $1000 to receive such horrible service especially not to be overcharged in the process. You may think that expedient delivery is good; normally so would I. I would rather a company that sticks to his claims so I can plan accordingly. I would not recommend this company if you need your vehicle shipped. I had a good experience last winter but you're only as good as your weakest performance.
