My experience with Dave at Get it Done is a convoluted one, but overall positive because it is important to separate the actions of a trucking company from the brokerage company.

I originally called GetitDone on July 14th, 2014 because they had good reviews online comparable to the other shipping brokerage companies out there. The 1st company I had hired had dropped the ball on me by failing to find me a driver in time. When I talked to Dave, he was insistent that he had a driver “on the phone” and could dispatch me a trucker that very same day. He had told me that my car would get from OR to VA in 5-7 days flat, Friday at the latest- something I would not get from the other company. While this brokerage deal was $200 more expensive, I still cancelled my booking with the 1st company and went with his company to be able to get there on time.

Caveat: The shipping company he booked me, Quality Relocation Services, was a complete nightmare. Not only was I not given the proper notice when my car was going to be picked up and dropped off, but the car arrived DAMAGED, on July 16th, 2014. My rear window was shattered because the trucking company jolted my car so much, that it actually dislodged a piece of secured cargo that went through my window from the inside (total negligence). This was on top of the car arriving in filthy condition and scratched. To make things even worse, the trucking company refused to give me their insurance information and refused to pay for the damage done; in fact, they refused my claim outright. They also sent me a nasty email in garbled grammar (they are a Russian company) calling me an “idiot” for writing a bad review of them online, and telling me to “blame the broker.”

I was also in a terrible situation because my insurance premium was so high ($1000) and my own company refused to cover me, so not only was I out $1300 for the transport, but I had to expend $400 for a new window while I pursue other legal avenues against Quality Relocation. When I called Dave to let him know what happened (with photos and a forward of the harassing email), he was so appalled that he assured me he would never use Quality Relocation again (and I realllllly hope that is the case) and would cover half the cost of the repair work. I was blown away at the fact he was willing to do that. The whole process did take a really long time, and I had to contact Dave multiple times. On August 7th, I emailed him my new mailing address and the cost (broken down) again, as requested by him. On Friday, August 15th I was assured that the check had been sent, but I did not receive it until the 22nd. I will admit, I had my doubts he would follow through since I always hear such bad things about the ‘trucking industry,’ but ultimately Dave came through on his word. He owns a family-run business and I realize things may take longer because of his work load, which is why I was trying to be patient. My only qualm was that he was not as responsive and quick as I had liked him to be, and that I depended on him to pick a reliable trucking company. However, unlike a lot of brokers, Dave does not disappear after he takes your $$ and will see the deal though til the end. I would recommend using his company and doing business with him.

Jaime, thank you for your honesty and recommendation. We are a family owned business and I felt horrible about the way the carrier handled this. You were so awesome to work for and I would always step up and have my clients back, after all without you all there is no Get it Done Transportation. Thank you again for the opportunity to work for you. Dave Pein 888-325-1899
