The first company that was used picked my vehicle up on a thursday and said it would be to my house by Sunday or Monday. Thats when the craziness started. The first driver had a heart attack and passed away. The company doesn't even call to let me know, but David at amerifreight calls and informs me of whats going on. The shipping company was supposed to contact me on that monday to confirm my delivery. I finally get ahold of them on the following friday, and when I asked the owner how his driver is doing, he responds with "Oh he's dead, but your truck will be there on sunday." The driver does contact me on Saturday and tells me he will be here between 7 & 7:30 am on Sunday. I wait from 7-8am and no driver and no call. I try calling three times throughout the day and text him twice, but no answer. Monday morning, I call the owner of the company and it goes straight to voicemail.
At about 10:30, I receive a call from a DEA agent in Louisiana. The driver and the owner were picked up for transporting 39 kilos of cocaine in another vehicle on the truck. Explains why I didn't get a phone call back. I get ahold of David at Amerifreight and explain what is going on. He immediately calls the DEA agent to get all the particulars, and finds a carrier that day to pick up my vehicle the following morning and get it to me the next day. The fee from Arizona to Monroe, Louisiana was Free of course. So I got lucky with the pricing I guess.
David Littles from amerifreight was above and beyond what I was expecting. If I have to ship a vehicle again I would have no hesitation calling him to handle everything again. He stayed in contact and was very easy to get ahold of throughout the entire process.
Thanks again David and to the Louisiana DEA for not keeping an honest mans car.
