I am not sure if the management has changed since the last review but as opposed to some of the other reviews, my car was delivered within the stated time period.
Reasons why I gave 3 out of 5
They are a broker and do not use their own transporters and I was not made aware of this until after my shipment was booked. On the phone, the gentleman who took my order told me that I could pay with my credit card and everything will be taken care of from there. He also mentioned that I would not have to give the driver anything once I picked up my car. However, once I received the contract, I read the exact opposite. The credit card was only charged a portion of the bill and I had to run over to the bank to get a certified check (which also costs $$ at some bank branches) or have cash for the driver when I picked up my car. I was not comfortable with either one of those situations but opted for cutting a check. It was then that I found out the transport company was a totally different company than RoadRunner Auto. If the company had just been honest with me in the beginning, I would not have counted that against them.
Also, the gentleman on the phone as well as my confirmation page said that my car was going to be picked up the next day but instead it was not picked up until the day after. When the driver called me to give me a pickup window, he was not aware that my scheduled day had passed because he worked for a different company. I can see how that would be frustrating if someone had to move by a certain date.
Overall, the company did make arrangements to have my car shipped by a given date but with the amount of money that we put down for the car to be shipped, I would have hoped that the broker and the driver would be on the same page and that the pick up date would be accurate.
But I do have to say that the driver did make an effort to get my car shipped approximately 2,200 miles in a week while running into a bit of bad weather along the way. He stayed in contact with me through out the whole process.
Also, the staff at RoadRunner Auto did make an effort to contact the driver and keep me posted on the status of my car. If the online status page could be changed into a shipment tracking page, that would be helpful.
RoadRunner Auto seems to be at the mercy of the transport company that they choose to do business with. The transport company that they picked for my order did the job well.
