honest broker, no damage

SUMMARY: I would recommend Don and MotorMovers to you as an honest broker who care about giving you a quality experience. On the basis of their honest and integrity, I would give MotorMovers 5-stars. The vehicle and contents arrived without damage or loss and only a day late. In my case, I has some difficulty in reaching Don while the vehicle was in transit and this made it a 4-star experience.

DETAILS: I did a lot of online research and decided to go through a broker so that I would have a company to contact if things didn't go well. I contacted several brokers through their websites. While the response that I got from other brokers was a generic message or worse, MotorMovers sent me an Email with a realistic estimate and Don's name and his direct phone number. In speaking with Don, he was open and honest about how brokers work with the truckers, the seasonal movement of cars and the effect on prices, and how MotorMovers screens drivers. I needed to get the car delivered across the country within 2weeks and Don helped me set an offer price that got a fast response. Don immediately contacted me to confirm the price and the delivery date offered by the recommended driver. The vehicle was picked up 4days later on Fri, Jul25, with a promised deliver date of Tue, Jul29.

Once the vehicle was in transit, I tried to phone Don a couple of times and did not get a call back. I finally called the central MotorMover office, who expressed their concern about the lack of response and said they would contact Don immediately. I got a call from Don within an hour with an explanation of why he had not yet returned my call. I understand about being busy, and that was perhaps all it was. It was unfortunate timing as it seemed like the classic loss of interest by the broker after being paid their fee. Once I talked with Don, however, he contacted the driver and got an update on where he was and the expected deliver date. Don followed up with me a couple of times after that to confirm that everything was going OK.

It turned out that the driver wasn't particularly good about keeping us informed on his progress. He promised that he would call 24hours in advance of his arrival, which he did and gave an estimated delivery about 7pm on Tue. He called early on Tue afternoon and pushed the arrival back to 10pm. He didn't call again that evening and we didn't get the car until mid-day on Wednesday. I don't know if he was delayed by another customer on a prior delivery, or sleeping rather than driving exhausted, or what. When it finally arrived, the vehicle was undamaged and everything inside was there.

Overall, I am satisfied with MotorMovers and would use Don and the company again as I am satisfied with their integrity. The communication gap was an annoyance rather than a huge problem as the vehicle still arrived by my need date. The combined communication difficulties with both Don and the driver just made it a 4-star experience rather than a 5-star one.

Don Edwards 480-719-7915. Graham , I am sorry that you had trouble contacting me. My customers have always said I answer the phone right away or get back to them in a timely matter (please see previous reviews), my goal is always to call back within a hour or first thing the next day if the call is after hours. I am not sure why I was not available your case but, I am glad that the move was completed correctly. I see that you would still recommend me in the future. Thank you for your business.
