I contracted this firm to move a car for my daughter. This my first experience moving a vehicle like this, and Tom (my rep from Ship-A-Car) was awesome. This is a murky world, and dealing with truckers is not an easy task, but Tom explained clearly how the process would go, how the pricing worked, and how the transport contractors worked. He didn't paint a rosy picture just to get the sale, but told me directly what to expect, including some the more difficult parts about how hard it can be to get the drivers to communicate along the way.

Tom also explained up front how the pricing determined whether drivers would accept the shipment, in a kind of free-bidding marketplace where drivers pick what shipments they'll take based on factors that include route, transit time, and price. When we had trouble getting our shipment picked up, and I offered to up the price, Tom told me he thought the price was fine. In the end, he offered up part of his fee to ensure the shipment happened as close as possible to the schedule we had specified. I didn't ask him for that, he just offered to help make things right.

The drivers didn't communicate real well, but delivered as promised, and were respectful and friendly when they did. When they were late at the destination (relative to calls earlier that day), I called Tom and he worked with me to get info from the drivers and bring the shipment home. No damage at all to the vehicle, so a great ending!

In summary, I am more than satisfied with how Tom and Ship-a-Car Direct handled this entire transaction. Whenever I called him, Tom was prompt in returning my calls, and helpful on whatever issues I raised. I would use these guys again without question.
