I received a quote from Anthony McManus on 5 Jun 14 to ship my vehicle door-to-port from Germany to Texas for$1,975. This was the best quote I had received so by 13 Jun 14, I emailed Mr. McManus to finalize the deal but I did not have the date firm at this point. By 17 Jun 14, I had my date set for 29 Jul 14 to turn in the car and emailed him that "I looked forward to working with his company". He replied "Thanks". A month passes and time is nearing my departure date so I email him and ask what documents are necessary, etc. We exchange a few emails the same day about basic info, 16 Jul 14, and on 17 Jul 14, he sends me a whopper. "I regret to inform you" is how it started out and he told me that the quote was no longer valid and they wanted to charge me $2975. Even though time was short, I found another carrier (Transcar.de) who are performing the same door-to-port service for $1,850. Although I can't prove it, this seemed to be a scam to throw in a late charge because they know my timeline and it would rush me in making rash decisions. VULTURES!
