Overall I had a good experience with this company. My broker, Ali Miller, was very professional and capable. She called multiple times during the process to check things were going smoothly. Amerifreight booked a shipping company called Exit 15 Trucking to take the job. Communication between Ali, the Exit 15 dispatcher and myself was good. Communication between all of us and the actual driver of the truck was somewhat lacking. He was very hard to get a hold of and ended up arriving several days later than originally planned.
The car did not arrive in perfect condition. It appeared banged up in places, a few areas of chipped paint and a lot of grease all over. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot you can do about it. The driver seemed convinced that all of that was pre-existing and I didn't feel like arguing. Frankly, I was just relieved that the car ran fine. If it really matters to you, I would consider taking multiple photographs of your car (before and after shipment) as evidence.
If you have a car that you just need moved from point A to point B and don't care if there is some superficial damage, it appears okay to go ahead with this company, asking for the lowest price possible and an open carrier. If you are in love with your car and need to have it in perfect condition, consider a closed carrier or driving it yourself.
