Approximately June 1, 2014 I put in a request for and auto transporter. I got several quotes and on June 4, 2014 Victor from American Auto Transport called me to book the job. He originally quoted $675 but offered me a $50 discount( you see later why) if I booked with him. We agreed that the vehicle would be picked up on June 28. 2014 and delivered to Houston on July 1, 2014, this took several attempts of moving the dates around. He asked for a credit card and then sent me a email confirming our deal, including Price, date vehicle to be picked up , date vehicle was to be delivered and how payment was to be made. I asked Victor several times if the trucks and driver were theirs and he stated yes they were. We gave him a deposit of $125 and were to pay the driver the balance upon delivery

As the pick up date approached I attempted to contact the company to confirm the pick up. First I never reached anyone with my calls I always got a voice mail. A woman who identified herself as Natalie did call me back and said that the dispatcher was working on it ( this is the same answer she gave every time I called) she kept saying that we wanted the vehicle picked up in the 27th or 28th I told her no the 28th. I called on her on the 23th ,25th , 26th and 27th each time only getting voice mail and a return call with the same message dispatcher working on it. I called Victor twice getting voice mails each time. Finally on the 27th Natalie gave me the phone number of the dispatcher (Tom) I called him but again voice mail(2 times) I called Victor again and he returned my call.
I told him what was gong on and he said not to worry he would never lie to me just to get a job and gave me the dispatcher (tom) phone number. I called again and Tom called me back on the 27th to tell me that he had a truck that could pick up my vehicle on the 28th . I said fine. He then said that It would $125 to them and $600 to the driver, I said that was not want I agreed to with Victor. Tom said it didn’t matter want Victor had agreed to this was the deal. Tom said this is the way the business is done. He would email me the new contract and I could sign it. I told him I was not happy with that and if he sent the new contract would it have his corporate office address on it.\He said yes but then said sounds like you might be planning on taking legal action against us so I am cancelling your order. I called Victor again but he has not returned my calls

I received an email from the company dispatcher but now his name was Anthony. The email claimed that I had cancelled the order.

It is obvious the Victor job is to promise you anything to get the job, but he has no authority to make a binding deal. The fact that he would say that the trucks were their when he knew they were going to sub-contract the job, he will give you any discount because they don’t plan on honoring it.
I when to their site and found several other customers with the same complaint that they call the a day or two before the pick up and change the price.. their site is also very deceiving when you look at it there are lots of good reviews about the company( I now have to question if they are all from customers. And there is a tab if you want to see complaints but it is not the good reviews are in gold and the tab is in purple so you don’t notice it as much as the rest of the site.
Again the names to watch out for are Victor, Natalie and Tom

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, will be placing reviews on all media sites available.
