Terrible customer service, bad price - Amerifreight

There are 2 main aspects that are important for car shipping - price and customer service. Amerifreight was disappointing for both.

Price: Amerifreight quoted me an expected shipping fee of $1045 minus a $250 deposit, meaning the shipping company would ask for $795, give or take a few hundred if they were having trouble matching us with a driver. Our car sat for a week with no takers, and then Jorge told me someone would pick up the car for $1200. I understand they can't control the exact fee charged, but we were quoted $1045 and ended up paying $1450 - that's a hefty difference. Jorge even said that was market price, so we could have cut out the middle man.

Customer service: I received a quote from Jorge and spent several days calling him and leaving him messages and getting no where as I tried to confirm. I finally had to call the main Amerifreight line - after trying Jorge again and getting no where - and another agent said "Oh, yeah, Jorge is in today, let me transfer you to him." He picked up that time and we figured out the details. This was the pattern - I called and left multiple messages and he didn't ever call back. He even said he'd call Wednesday before the scheduled Thursday pickup to confirm everything with me and he never did. Worse, the driver Amerifreight connected me with didn't pick up the car on Thursday, didn't call, and I had to track him down myself. While Jorge was polite on the phone when I'd finally get a hold of him, the bad customer service and unwillingness to return my calls was a huge source of frustration.

The car did eventually make it to us, which is the most important part. However, I will never use this company again.
