My experience with Nationwide was excellent, until my car was damaged during transport. The driver admitted he did not strap the car down appropriately and during the transport the car ( a pristine 1966 VW) was damaged. the driver called us and told us about the damaged before the car was delivered, and when the car arrived it was delivered to the repair shop. The driver lost his cool at the repair shop and almost got into a fight with the owner of the repair shop. It was not a good situation. After Nationwide received estimates of the cost of repair, they decided to just refund the money we paid for shipping. but the repairs turned out to cost about 600 more than the reimbursement, and that came out of our pocket. they say they are insured, but they wanted the driver to cover the damage, and he had a problem with the cost, so I think that's why they only refunded the original shipping cost. The person we dealt with at Nationwide was excellent and very professional. We give him a A+ for trying, but in the end Nationwide left us holding the bill for the remaining $600, and that's not quite the same as advertising you are insured, and leading people to think they will cover any damages they were responsible for. We did nothing to contribute to the damage, and original parts had to be replaced with less quality after market parts. and we were left holding the bill for $600 of the repair costs. IF the damage had not happened we would have rated Nationwide an A+, but beware if your car is damaged during transport. They may not fully pay to have the car repaired, even if the damage was entirely their fault.
