Do not use this company; they stole $600 from me.

I contracted with this company to move my vehicle from Virginia to Texas for $900. I paid the $200 deposit and expected to owe $700 on delivery. I contacted the company near the shipping date for confirmation. Goodfellas Shipping LLC stated that a driver had been dispatched and would pick up the car in a few days. At that time I asked the company explicitly, is the price still $900? The agent confirmed this price was still valid. Once the car was loaded and en route, the driver contacted me to arrange drop off. I asked the driver how much I would owe him on arrival and he responded that I owe him $1400 (instead of $700). I immediately called Goodfellas Shipping. The agent claimed that I was informed the price had changed - even though he has no record of a phone call or email to prove it. Even though he could not produce any record of notification, the agent hung up on me.

At delivery, the driver produced a contract from Goodfellas Shipping for a completely different amount than what I agreed to. I contacted the local police but unfortunately there was nothing they could do. They could not force the driver to unload my car. I had to pay the driver the amount he contracted for otherwise he would not unload the car. I asked the driver if he would accept $1300 because that was all I could get from my bank and the driver accepted that amount.

This company lied to me. After the order was dispatched, the company should know the actual price. I called to verify the price (before my car was put on the truck), and they told me the price had not changed.

If you have to ship your car, please take my advice: 1) Never pay a deposit up front. There are plenty of reputable companies that will contract to move your vehicle without a deposit. 2) Before your vehicle gets put on the truck, confirm with the driver what the price is. If it is not what you agreed to, do not let him take your vehicle.
