I filled out some form to get quotes for shipping my old Beetle from southern IL to San Antonio, TX. Within minutes, I had tons of quotes. I did my research on the the first few companies that came in, and Get It Done looked like they were up to par. Price was okay, about average for the quotes I got back.

I waited about a week to confirm with GID that I was going to use them. I filled out their form to confirm, and I think David Pein called shortly after to confirm my billing info. Nice guy.

The courier showed up with 20 mins of when he said he would the night before. I was pretty surprised, considering I can't even get local cable companies to do that. We loaded the car up and he was on his way. Nothing really much to say here except he was a super nice guy. (Craig with Galloway Auto Transport)

I only have two complaints.

1. Door to door pickup and delivery is unlikely in a lot residential cases, There's just no way a giant truck, possibly holding multiple cars is going to wind it's way through the narrow twists and turns of some subdivision. I actually had to meet my driver at a nearby gas station to load the Beetle, but he was able to drop it off right in front of my house because we live on a fairly accessible street. No big deal, but it's something I'd like to see disclaimed in the advertising copy instead of risking having to work some plan out with a driver day of pickup/delivery. Also, for cars that aren't running, this may be a bigger issue.

2. My car was late. Again, not really a big deal. My driver broke down in Dallas, which is still 6 hours away from destination. Stuff happens, I get it. I can say my driver called and let me know what was going on, told me when to expect him, and kept the new schedule. So, yeah, my car was late, but road hazards, mechanical failures, etc. are risks you take anytime you're on the road and that's why I don't hold it against GID or Galloway Auto.

At the end of the day, my baby is back to me in the same condition I left her in, I knew what what happening every step of the way, so I'm happy. I'd use GID again anytime.
