Poor Service, Minor Damage

A dealership I bought a vehicle from in another state used this company to ship the vehicle to me. I paid for the shipping. The deliver date was delayed by a day or so due by the trucking company due to their internal issues. That in itself was not a big deal to me, to some it might be.

It is also noted that the vehicle I bought was an older vehicle and was not perfect, however, the damage to the vehicle when delivered that I mentioned , even though minor, was not noted on the bill of laden when the truck driver signed for the vehicle at the dealership. The bill of laden (Shipping) showed it was inspected by the truck driver and a representative from the dealership Company I bought the vehicle from. When the driver delivered the vehicle, he and I inspected the vehicle together. He acknowledged the damage to the right front fender and I requested he note/mark the Bill of Laden showing this damage, which he did (Noted on BOL by driver "Scratch not marked").

I asked the driver who I should contact about the minor damage and was told by him to contact his company. He stated they would advice me how to submit a claim and take care of it. I contacted his company and was told to submit a claim with a few estimates to their claim department, which I did. Several days later I heard nothing back from the claims department. Being concerned, I called and tried to talk to someone in the claims department and was told the claims person was not in, that he would be in contact with me the following day. This did not occur after repeated phone calls to the company.

In frustration, I submitted the claim to my insurance company and provided them the documentation I had sent to the trucking company. My insurance company reviewed my claim, reviewed the Bill of Laden noting the damage as "Scratch Not Marked" when the driver took receipt of the vehicle at the dealership. A few days later my claim request was approved at my insurance company and my insurance company paid for it.

What I am sure about is that the truck driver and I inspected the vehicle upon deliver, that when we discovered the minor damage, that the driver marked the bill of laden showing this damage on the Bill of Laden, I know that I contacted their claims department as instructed with estimates for repair and they did not get back to me or provide any customer service to me. I know I submitted the claim and all information regarding the damage as noted on the Bill of Laden to my insurance company. I know my insurance company, minus my deduction, paid for the repair. Because of this poor customer service, I could not in good faith recommend this company and would never use them again.

Bulldog Trucking would like to apologize to the customer for the inconvenience this issue has caused the customer. Our company works very hard to ensure a smooth transport for all customers. We understand the importance of taking care of our customers and their vehicles. We also strive to resolve all problems that can occur throughout the process of transport. Our team of employees are trained to address the logistics from pick-up to delivery. Any and all claims that are reported to Bulldog Trucking are investigated and reviewed according to company policy. The claim the customer is referring to was received and reviewed by the Bulldog Trucking claims department. It was determined the scratch was a rock chip caused by a rock hitting the vehicle during transport. The transporters are open carriers and cannot prevent objects, such as rocks flying up and hitting vehicles. It is stated on the bill of lading, in the Liability Disclaimer, that Bulldog Trucking is not liable for any glass damage, rock chips or cracks due to flying debris. The customer and his insurance company were informed of the decision made by the department. Bulldog Trucking does apologize for this matter and believes all measures were taken to resolve the issue.
