Well I was a first time shipper and Craig at eShip really came through for me on what was not an easy assignment. I thought it would be easy to ship a car across the country – just call a transport company and……well not so fast as you already know if you are reading this review. After all of the horror stories I had read and given that I am a stickler for details in the first place, I was in a complete state of worry! Well I shouldn’t have been, because Craig just took care of everything and was there for me every step of the way, but how was I to know that until now when everything went exactly as Craig said it would. My not-so-easy assignment: I needed to ship my Mercedes ML 350 from NYC to Northern California on either December 26th or 27th – I couldn’t get it out before Christmas Day and I was leaving town on the 28th – so I wasn’t giving much room for leeway because I didn’t have any to give, and I needed the car delivered not later than January 6th, but no sooner than January 5th because nobody was going to be out west until that time to take possession of the vehicle and we didn’t want to incur the extra fees for the vehicle to go into a storage facility or have to travel out of our way to pick it up. Every other broker and transport company I spoke with, except one, told me that it would be virtually impossible for me to get my car picked up until after the new year and that it would take anywhere from 8-15 days for my car to be delivered. One broker did tell me on December 23rd that they had a carrier ready to take my car on the morning of December 26th, but it would most likely arrive in CA on January 2nd and have to go into storage until we could pick it up. Not my ideal scenario, but it seemed like my only option which I was ready to pull the trigger on until they told me that I had to pay them a $225 deposit before they would even tell me who the carrier would be – exactly what I read I shouldn’t do. Maybe it was real and maybe it wasn’t, but we’ll never know because - SERENDIPITY!! – I called Craig at eShip on my way home on December 23rd in reply to an email that I believe he sent me and while I’m on the phone with him, after I told him my most difficult requirements, he calls a transport company that he has a great relationship with (I can hear the entire conversation) and they tell him they will pick up my car in NJ, just across the Hudson River, on Dec. 26th or 27th at the absolute latest and deliver the car to me in Northern California on January 5th or 6th at the latest. Sounded too good to be true, but unlike the other company that wanted to charge me an upfront deposit without informing me of the carrier’s identity, Craig immediately tells me the name of the carrier, gives me their telephone number and the names of the dispatchers I should speak with and tells me to call him AFTER my car is picked up and loaded onto the carrier to give him my credit card information for him to charge his fee. I trusted him and he trusted me, just like people used to make deals on a handshake in the good old days. Well my car was loaded onto a transport vehicle on the afternoon of December 26th (the driver called me directly a few hours before we were to meet and told me exactly where to meet him), I called Craig early that evening and gave him my credit card information and authorized him to charge his fee on it, and my car was delivered at 9:00 am on Monday January 5th. Almost sounds too good to be true, but this is the absolute unfiltered truth. Craig, you were my godsend and I will definitely be calling you the next time I need to move a vehicle! Thanks & best regards, Ken B.
