Crest Trans committed to move a vehicle within TX for $330.00. A week later they still had not picked up the truck. We could not get them to call us back or give a straight answer when they did. They kept saying that the transport of our vehicle had been booked and should be arriving in a few days. We had already signed all the paperwork for the shipment and paid the deposit. The following week they said they were still working on getting a truck in to pickup ASAP and that they would call us back with an update. We advised them there was no rush and to keep us posted. We did not urgently need the truck and wanted to move it the most cost effective way. We thought $330.00 sounded more than fair. The next morning, a man and his wife are at our front door asking for $550.00 to deliver a vehicle. We thought there was some kind of mistake. The drivers did not speak English so we had to call Crest Trans to find out what was going on. At it turns out, they brokered this out to another company that moved our vehicle in a boxed trailer that they pulled behind their pickup truck. We were told that the total cost was now $700.00 and not $330.00 like we were originally quoted. They advised that we were subject to the terms and conditions of the contract and that any rate increases were the responsibility of the customer. They said that we authorized the service upgrade over the phone the day before when we supposedly told them that the vehicle was needed right away. This is a flat out lie from the same guy I had talked to less than 24 hours earlier where I told him not to worry and to keep me posted. They refused to off load the vehicle until they got their money. We had to run to the bank to pull out cash so that we could pay them right there in our driveway. We could not believe what had just happened. Two hours after the delivery, I received an email from them advising that the service level needed to be upgraded and the new charge would be $700.00 which we would be responsible for. It was too late. They had already come and gone. We felt humiliated. We felt like we had been robbed in front of our own home. I have a number of emails between me and Crest Trans for this shipment on file. We are still debating on what to do in the matter and who we can notify. These guys were nothing short of dishonest and unprofessional. They are crooks. They give a bad name to the industry and really left us with a bad taste in out mouth. We will never use them again. We will never use this type of service again.
