Folks - having seen all the positive reviews on Motor Movers (MM) and Laura Curto (sales rep) - we shipped our daughter's car through MM . However, the experience has NOT been pleasant at all. So please beware !!! The car was picked up on the 8/2 from California and was supposed to reach San Antonio last Friday 8/8 but has still not made it. It seems the truck had transmission problems since last Friday but neither Laura nor her boss John have been able to send us proof despite several requests. We were misled to believe that the car will reach on time on 8/8. My wife and daughter flew to San Antonio on 7th hoping to get the car on the 8th so that she could settle down in her apartment before her school starts today. The car has still not arrived and we ended up renting a car. I have requested Laura and her boss, John to pick up the tab ( or part of it) for the rental car or make alternate arrangements to ship the car to us through another carrier but they refused. Laura does try but sounds so helpless when she calls me back and keeps telling me that they have not been able to contact the truck driver. She has no authority so whatever she says does not matter. They took an advance of $170 from us with the balance payable to the driver. They refuse to take any responsibility for the delay and the worst part is that they told me to work directly with the truck driver/ carrier. We have had to text the truck driver who has actually been more responsive than MM. Understand clearly that MM takes no responsibility whatsoever once they get their advance. They do not guarantee the dates but will mislead you to believe that the delivery dates will hold. I would have thought that dealing with a middleman would have helped in such situations but they really do not bring any additional value. I would have appreciated if they had offered to pick up part of the rental car expenses as my daughter is a student going to Grad school and the cost of the rental and shipment of the car has costed more than the resale value of the car. My advice don't get fooled by their sweet talk while selling and scaring you about other carriers - try to find a direct carrier at least you know who is shipping your car and at least have direct access. Hoping my daughter gets her car delivered soon but there is really nothing we can do except wait. Guess this was an important lesson learned so thought of sharing. Any advice in recovering part of the rental car expense or my options will be appreciated. More than the money i feel cheated and my daughter had to go through a lot of inconvenience in a new city . I will never use MM again .

Laura Curto 480-428-1266 laurac@motormoversautotransport.com Hi Kamlesh, In response to your review, you stated that you were guaranteed a delivery date of 8/8. Per our contract, the e-mail you were sent and our phone conversations we are NOT able to guarantee them. We can give estimated dates only, as sometimes unforeseen things such as break downs on a truck do occur. In your own words quote, somethings are out of your control and unforeseen things do happen, end quote such as this. Our contract that you were sent when order was placed, clearly states we are not responsible for rentals cars. How ever, I did give you $50.00 off to help off set this. As far as the proof you requested that carrier was broke down, I told you we could provide that once the truck was fixed and we had receipt, and would be provided at drop. This was not good enough. I can't give you something I don't have. Best wishes to you and your family!
