I searched through various shipping companies to ship my car from NY to CA and AmeriFreight had the lowest price for that route. I almost shipped my car with Safe Direct but ended up not going through with it because of the price gap between the two companies. But Safe Direct had a standard of not billing you for the deposit until they give you the information of the carrier. AmeriFreight doesn't do that and I was a little turned off by that since this whole shipping process is pretty sketchy to begin with. AmeriFreight was better than Safe Direct at one thing for sure though. They found a carrier right away just over the weekend although Safe Direct took extremely long and suggested that I raise the price I'm willing to pay several times before they told me they found a carrier. I was a little nervous because of the lower price that AmeriFreight offered but everything turned out just fine and my car arrived 4 days earlier than the estimate. There were some minuses that I came across like when the truck driver spoke in an accent that I really couldn't understand and made it really difficult to understand road names. Another problem was the claim that the truck driver made about not being able to fit his truck into the pick up location road although that road is definitely wide enough. My friend who was handing my car over to him had to drive it out to him and that's obviously a significant inconvenience. Other than these issues I had a good experience with AmeriFreight. I didn't even pay for any insurance but my car had no problems. After business with them I feel like other companies might not be as sketchy as I expected, even the ones with very amateur websites, but I'm absolutely satisfied with AmeriFreight and if I were to ship my car again I'd keep using them instead of trying out other companies.
