I booked with Richard of CT Transporters as he was very kind on the phone and offered a great rate of $850. I had expressed that $$ was an issue and he stated it would not be an issue. He assured me he could help me transport my car from FL to CA. I had moved in Jan 2013 to CA and had to put my car in storage until I could afford to transport it. I told Richard I had a very short window to do this. I told him I had to book my flight to FL and needed to confirm he could ensure that my car could be picked up on Apr 3 when I was planning to be in Miami, FL. He assured me after booking me and taking a $50 deposit. I told him I wanted to make sure of this and wouldn't book my flight until he had booked a driver. I had been talking with him from mid march and finally booked with him on 3/25/2013. I again stressed the importance of whether he could meet my expectations in that I needed the car picked up on 4/3/2013. I finally booked my flight but he still had not confirmed a driver. From the time I booked AFTER I booked with him, Richard NEVER ONCE called me back, despite messages and numerous emails. On April 1, I called him several times and he stated that he was working on a "10 car deal" that my car would be a part of, that "he was very honest" and "would take care of me" because "I was a nice person". I asked him to call me back but again he never did. It was VERY frustating and on 4/2/2013 I called again and he stated he didn't have a driver but assured me he would be able to find one. I kept insisting I was traveling the next day. His response was call me tomorrow. I raised the cost to $1000 on 4/1/2013 to try and assist to book a driver. I asked him, "do I need to have a back up plan to take care of this and he assured me that would NOT be necessary. It was very frustrating working with Richard. He was a nice person but I just didn't have any faith in him as he never called back or returned emails.

When I arrived in Miami on April 3, I called him again and he stated he couldn't find a driver for my car. I was extremely upset and Richard blamed me, stating that the rate was the issue. I told him when I asked two days prior about a back up plan and you assured me you could do it, why didn't you tell me then? He stated that he had done all he could and could still do it if the rate was raised higher. I told him that I had lost all confidence in him. That he had very poor customer service skills which he stated was not true. I told him if you tell someone you are going to call them back, you call them back. NOT have them call you back. This is especially important in a customer service based industry. His response was "if I don't call you back that just means I don't have a driver". I was completely baffled by this reponse and said, "so I am just supposed to read your mind?". I told him you should have told me that you were not able to book the transport based upon what you had quoted. I had raised the amount myself...not at his direction. And at the end of the day, you need to make sure that you communicate with the customer. I told him I wanted to be refunded the deposit and he stated "how am I supposed to pay for my family, for my bills?". He stated he and his team had been working very hard for me, that I was written up on his board. I told him how would I know as he never ONCE called me back or responded to an email after booking me. I told him to refund my $50 deposit and he stated again that he had worked for me, that he needed to feed his family. He put me on hold and never came back. I ended up hanging up at that point and emailed the request. To this day, I still have not received a response or my $$ back. It is not a lot of $$ but I am very upset.

I was new to this process as this was the first time I had transported my car. I was worried and had serious concerns after researching the matter. Richard confirmed ALL my worries and concerns. I had booked with him as it was a new company and wanted to give them a chance. It is VERY obvious that I chose wrong.

AT ALL COSTS- - DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

They are a fraud and do not do as they promise. They take deposits without booking a driver which I learned later was not the correct practice. I ended up booking with Tropical Auto Transport and had excellent service with them. They booked me (did not take a deposit) and within an hour called me back with a driver (at which time I paid $100 deposit). The broker called me back and returned my emails every time. That is good service.

I don't have an issue with someone telling me that what I am asking will not work. If Richard had simply said, I cannot book a driver @ $850 which was his original quote and than $1000 when I raised it, I would not be so upset. But he never told me this...until the final day when I had to pull it out of him...when he stated hadn't found a driver and actually had the audacity to blame me for the rate.

I had shared my concerns with him regarding this process, regarding the short time line and had stated several times to him, "if you cannot do this TELL ME NOW" so I could book elsewhere. He never once said he couldn't do it until I arrived in Miami...when it was too late.
