I had a really great experience with Amerifreight. If it's any indication, I ended up stuck in traffic behind an Amerifreight truck yesterday and couldn't stop beaming at it.
I asked for a good amount of quotes before settling on Amerifreight, and I did so because you really can't beat the reviews that they have (there's a full list on their page). Another factor was that I needed my car, pronto. I just got a new job and needed the car shipped as earliest as possible (I was looking at my options in the last 2 weeks of March) and arriving by April 7th. Most car transports required at least 7-10 days from the time that the car was available, would take more than a week, and don't have a terminal location to drop off the car (Amerifreight does, in Anaheim, CA).
Needless to say, I was really surprised at how quickly everything was processed (within a few business days). Jorge did a great job in explaining to me the process- the original quote was $995, and that is what they try to get with carriers. If no carrier agrees to this quote, I would be looking at an increase of up to $300 (the usual price of transporting a car from CA to MD is around $1300). I committed to Amerifreight, and the very next day Jorge informed me that the quote had gotten accepted at $995!!!! I paid for the Afta insurance plan ($95) and also received a rebate of $50 for agreeing to leave a review, so the total came to $1040, which is much lower than what I was expecting. To note: there was a little confusion because I added my $95 in a separate Paypal payment, but Jorge sorted it out quickly.
PK LINE:
My first available pickup day was on Friday (3/29), which was only a few days after my car had been dispatched to PK line, and they picked it up bright and early! I was told that I could expect my car approximately Saturday (4/6). When I called again on Wednesday, I was told they were a little bit delayed so I'd be looking at Sunday, but PK line really came through for me and actually delivered my car on FRIDAY evening (they hit traffic so although they told me 3PM, it actually arrived at 6PM. Can't complain though!) There is no damage on my car.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Amerifreight and PK line, and I was able to use my car to commute to orientation/work on Monday (4/8). Thank you to both!
