I am a student and I transported my car from Syracuse, NY to Savannah, GA through Amerifreight. I've never done this before and I did a lot of work online looking reviews and checking on BBB. Finally I settled with Amerifreight because it has great reviews on many auto transportation web and it owns an A on BBB. I am student with limited money so I went the Economy Saver plan and got a quote about 645(including $95afTA) and I thought that's really the greatest price I can got(every other company ran more than $750), and I called the contact person Bob. He sounds really nice and he explained things in detail to me. When you go with Economy Saver it means you probably not be able to ship your car very soon. Bob called me after 9 or 10 days after I confirmed the order. He said there is a carrier who will ship my car for $500 instead of $300 which was on the quote and he is willing to lower the broker’s charge a little bit. I finally shipped my car $795 in total with afTA. I was happy that the carrier was on-time but I got damage on my car. Several dent on the top, a big scratch on the side. The carrier said they will pay for the repair but I still didn’t get any further answer until now. I hope the repair and payback thing would runs well and it is so annoying that I have to spend time on it. I hope that only happens on me and the carrier company should be more careful.
