I shipped my car from Hawaii to Texas upon leaving the military. Roadrunner does not have a pickup service if you are in Hawaii but that does not drop the price of the shipment even though you have to drop it off at the port yourself.
My car was shipped and it arrived somewhat on time. When I was called for the delivery the driver didn't make it on the day indicated and then couldn't be reached until the next day. Upon delivery my car was damaged. The driver of the truck that delivered it filled out an inspection form and handed it to me with the damage on it. I marked the damage as new and asked if I would need the form. He told me I should not mark anything on the sheet because the damage was there when he got it. He could not present an inspection form from when he picked up the car. He said I would not need the form but I called Roadrunner and it turns out the driver was lying. When I requested a copy he would not let me take the paper and finally when he went to a store and got a copy copy I realized that he had scratched out my comment.
I immediately informed Roadrunner of the incident and began my claim. I sent in pictures, the copy of the form, a price for repair that I had to research. All these things were turned in and I waited and waited. After 30 days I called to see what the status was and was asked if I could prove that the damage wasn't there before. When I replied that I had not only taken pictures of the car before it shipped but still had the inspection form from when it was dropped off, I was not asked to send any of that in.
I continued to call Roadrunner to see if the status had changed and I was told every day that the person I needed to talk to was out or that they needed to make some phone calls but they would get back to me within an hour, or three hours or by the end of the day. They failed that almost every time. It is now 43 days into the claim and I am still not getting called back on the status.
I would not use this company again mainly because of the runaround. If I were notified in a timely manner of the status of my claims or if the employees could hold true to their promise to call me back then this company would be worth using.
