Honestly, I would've been better handing the keys over to a UPS driver, crossing my fingers and hoping our vehicle made it to Denver. We're military, and as such we're property of the US government and have to go where they say, when they say. I had originally made a reservation with Direct Auto Movers (Bryan) to move my husband's car a month prior to our move, yet as our date arrived, and new training locations became mandatory for my husband I tried to cancel the reservation. Within hours of me cancelling the reservation, my husband called to tell me that yet again, the Marine Corps had changed his orders, and I needed to re-book a car transport. I had re-booked through another company. Bryan flipped on me, telling me that I had "totally screwed up his truck" by cancelling my original reservation (a reservation I never received an emailed quote, quote number or anything confirming a reservation), and that I "shouldn't lie" to him because he just got another order with our name through a different broker. I told him that a) I didn't lie, plans change and b) if he could meet their price I would use him. OH yeah, sure he said, he'd meet their price (under $500 from CA to Denver, CO). Right. First off, the 1st reservation I made I never received paperwork or a reservation number. The second time around, I didn't receive paperwork or a reservation number, either. The car was supposed to be picked up on a Monday. I never heard from Bryan and finally, in fear of having to drive the car ourselves (with 2 dogs and a new baby) from coast-to-coast I called Bryan. Oh, yeah, your truck will be there in 30 min. Gee, THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP. The 2 sketchiest men showed up with a Dodge Ram and a trailer. Wait a second Bryan, you told me you OWNED YOUR OWN TRUCKS- definitely not true. These two looked like they were ready to head for the border and sell our car for parts. Aside from that, the two started dismantling my husbands exhaust (without permission) on the 2009 Dodge Challenger because it couldn't get up the ramp. I called Bryan extremely infuriated and stressed at this point to which he said "oh, I didn't know it was a sports car"...wtf? Did you think a challenger was an SUV?
The two men get to Denver with our car and Demand $525 in CASH on top of the $75 deposit I had already paid Bryan. Our OVERALL TOTAL was quoted as $490 over the phone. I was BEYOND infuriated at this point. I arrive in Denver and log onto our online banking just to find out another $52.00 was deducted from our bank account- a total of approx $652 for what was supposed to be a under $500 job. I called my bank and disputed the charges; after all I never received a contract from Bryan, or any level of customer service. Never again will I use this company, and should I ship any vehicles in the future I will be sure to let the brokers know that my vehicle is NOT to exchange hands with Direct Auto Movers.
