| EXTREMELY Dissatisfied Customer |
I am providing my story/situation that I had with RoadRunner Auto Transport. I hope anyone who plans or thinks about using this company will read my story first.
I originally setup my auto transport with Phil to transport my Toyota Tacoma from Northern California to Maryland.
Ok. The first issue I had with the company was that they were constantly telling lies to me. My Toyota Tacoma was supposed to be picked up on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010. When I called RoadRunner on the following Monday, I spoke with Phil. He told me that he would contact some truck drivers from California and to give him a call back in 45 minutes. Ok I thought. I called back in an hour and Phil says he is still working on it and to call back in another half hour. I call back an hour later. This time Sandy picks up and tells me Phil is out of the office. So I call back the next Tuesday. I talk to Phil and he says that he has a transport lined up and to call him back in a couple of hours. I call back after a couple of hours and Sandy picks up again. She tells me that Phil is gone because he is driving someone to the airport. So I ask when will he be back and call then. Sandy picks up again and says Phil is not in. So at this point, I’m thinking this is too strange that he is always gone when I call. So I have a friend call RoadRunner. She calls RoadRunner and tells them that she is interested in transporting her car and that she would like to talk to Phil. Sure enough, Phil picks up. He was there the entire time. The same thing went on for the rest of that week. I call and Phil isn’t there. So I just decide to start dealing with Sandy.
Basically, by this point I was so tired of checking up on them that I decide to stop calling. I get a call from Sandy on Monday, April 19th, 2010. She tells me that they have someone who can take my car and that they will be there later that day or tomorrow morning. The transport ends up arriving on April 20th, 2010. They pick up my car and then say that it isn’t steady on the truck and that they can’t take it. When I ask why it took so long for them to come to pick up my car. They told me that the just received the call from RoadRunner the Friday before about my car. They also told me that another truck would come out in the next day or two. On April 21st, 2010, Onixe Express, Inc. came to pick up my car and told me that I could expect it on Tuesday, April 27th, 2010.
However, on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010, the truck that had my car broke down. I did not hear anything about this until April 28th, 2010. The worst part about that is that I talked to RoadRunner on the 22nd, 23rd, 26th, and the 27th of April to make sure the payment was all set. They never once told me that the truck with my car broke down. The truck driver called me on Wednesday April 28th to tell me that his truck broke down and that it would be fixed in 3 or 4 days. Well his truck wasn’t done getting fixed until the 7th of May. He left on the 7th of May and told me that he would arrive by the 16th or 17th of May with my car.
I received a call from the truck driver on Sunday the 16th of May. He told me that he would be able to drop my car off around noon the following day. Sure enough, around noon on the 17th of May they arrived with my. My truck was on the front of the carrier. So in order for them to take my car off the carrier, they had to unload five other cars. Once the five cars were off, the truck driver and his buddy told me that they needed $875 cash. (The balance should have been $800 too, not $875). I told them that I already paid it via RoadRunner. They threatened to load the other five cars back up and drive off with my car if I didn’t give them the $875. So I call RoadRunner and explain to them what was happening. They call Onixe Respress and tell them that I already paid. The truck driver asked me if I could tell me to cancel the credit card payment and drive to a bank to get them the $875 cash. I told them that I wouldn’t do that. So once that dilemma was over, they start unloading my car. As my car is still on the truck and being driven off, the truck driver’s buddy wasn’t trying to get me to sign the paper word saying that I already received the car. Strange I thought, so I told him that I had to inspect the car first. As I start inspecting the outside of my car, the truck driver and his buddy seem really nervous for some reason. Again, I thought strange. When I opened up the hood of my car, the two were just totally losing it now. So I go and check the miles on the odometer. They drove my car 1400 miles!! And broke my antenna!! I immediately call RoadRunner and tell them the situation. I spoke with Phil and he said that he would call me back in 2 minutes. He never called me back.
This entire time, the truck driver and his buddy are trying to get me to sign the paper work saying that I received my car and to just write on the paper work that they drove the car and broke the antenna. I told them that I wasn’t going to sign it and wrote VOID on the line I was supposed to sign. When I call RoadRunner back (over an hour after talking to Phil) Sandy picks up. The first thing she says to me, “Andrew, you can’t prove they drove your car!” (This is because Onixe never wrote down the miles or the date on when they pick up the car. I wrote down the miles before and after. They took it – the picked it up with 33620 miles and delivered it with 35018 miles and no antenna).
I, however, did find proof that they drove my car. I had my car license plates registered with FasTrak in California. I have pictures of these two guys driving my car. In addition to that, I had my tires changed at Costco a few days before Onixe picked it up. The tire center paperwork from Costco next to odometer reads 33461.
At this point, I will go on to handle this with the Better Business Bureau and the Surface Transportation Board (in case my car was used for any illegal activities. I think I will even go as far as to get a lawyer on the matter. Based on my experience, I honestly believe that many of the reviews left on this website for RoadRunner are fabricated.

| This is a highly exaggerated claim against our organization. We have been attempting to work with Andrew to resolve this matter, and he is not responding. Andrew is claiming that the driver physically drove his vehicle thousands of miles and that there are photographs of 2 men driving his vehicle through a toll plaza. In our efforts to assist Andrew in resolving this, we have requested to see this picture and for him to provide any other proof that he has so that we can submit the claim. He has been very uncooperative and we truly feel that this claim is fraudulent. Our organization takes claims such as this very serious and we are currently investigating the legitimacy behind Andrew's claim. |
