My husband and I have not received a refund for the $190 deposit we were promised after we canceled services with Around the Globe Auto Transport (ATGAT) for not providing the service we agreed to.
10/ 27/09: Placed order with ATGAT, emailed contract, paid $190 deposit over the phone with a credit card. Told pickup would be Nov 2 or 3.
11/6: Car not picked up, hadn’t heard from ATGAT, we called, were told pickup was scheduled for 11/7 (never a date we approved for pickup.) ATGAT said it wouldn't be a problem to schedule pickup 11/10 or 11/12, and they would call 11/9 to tell us which date.
11/9: No contact from ATGAT, called, left message requesting call back.
11/10: Still no contact, called ATGAT and left another message.
11/12: After no call back, called ATGAT, told pickup was scheduled for previous day, car had not been picked up and we had never been contacted. Told they would contact the transporter and call us back.
11/13: After no call back, called ATGAT, told pickup scheduled for 11/14 or 11/16, told we would get call to confirm.
11/14: After no call back, called ATGAT, told ATGAT that if car was not picked up that day we wanted our full deposit refunded. ATGAT said that would not be a problem if we canceled services with them.
11/16: ATGAT called, said car could be picked up that day if we would pay $211 more than our contract said (and this is two weeks after the original pickup date agreed to.) I told ATGAT that I wanted my $190 deposit refunded immediately. ATGAT said it would take 7-10 days, but that the $190 would be refunded.
12/11: Called ATGAT to inquire why deposit had not been refunded. Told the manager was in a meeting, left a message, told he would call me back in about three hours.
12/14: Called ATGAT after receiving no call back. Sent to voicemail after being on hold, never spoke to a service representative.
Have now contacted BBB, who never received a response from ATGAT, and Miami Consumer Protection. Still no refund. Still no contact by ATGAT.
