I never privately shipped a vehicle before so I was hesitant in picking any company with the cheapest price. I received e-mails from numerous companies and searched the Better Business Bureau’s website for information on all of them. Some stated they were B3 members, but were not listed. I am glad that I did my homework.
I narrowed my list to five companies and called Aaall States Auto Transport on a weekday. I spoke to Larry about the process and decided to go with his company. He provided me with a tracking number: 93315. I was not in any hurry, but after a week or so, I thought chances of pick up would be better if I changed the shipping location and drove my daughter’s vehicle to Tucson.
Within a couple days, I received a call from Marcie who said she had a driver interested in transporting my vehicle later that day (if it was enough notice). I agreed to ship it that evening, but wondered if the driver was passing my exit on the Interstate. She contacted him and he agreed to meet me at the truck stop at my exit on the Interstate. She provided me with his contact information. It would be TRC Carriers and the driver’s name was Cary.
As planned, my son and I met Cary at my exit where we inspected the vehicle, signed the paperwork, and loaded it onto his truck. After meeting and speaking to Cary, I felt at ease that my vehicle would make it there with no problems. This was on Tuesday evening and he said that she would have her vehicle on Thursday morning. I explained that my daughter was in training at the Air Force Base and that she would not be able to get her vehicle until later that evening. Cary said to have my daughter contact him when she was available.
Before we departed, Cary reminded me that it was COD for the vehicle. Since my daughter was in training and may not be able to get the cash or certified check at time of delivery, I told him I would pay the bulk of it that evening and paid him $350 cash.
On Thursday evening, I talked to my daughter and she received her car just a half hour before my call. She said she did not have any problems making arrangements with Cary to pick it up off post. She is extremely happy since she has not had a vehicle to drive in almost 5 months.
From the point of initial contact with Larry to sign a contract to Cary delivering the vehicle, it was no more than 2 weeks. My overall experience with shipping my daughter’s vehicle has been VERY GOOD with Aaall States Auto Transport and PRC Carriers.
