| DAS Review |
Being a military family, we are required to move often and sometimes with short notice. Within a week I had to move my belongings, store our household furniture and I didn't think about how our second vehicle was going to be transported. A few days before our move I researched vehicle shipping companies and of course came across sites with horror stories about having their vehicles transported and damage, loss, and theft they were encountered with. After what I read I was very hesitant to even ship our vehicle. I came across DAS and saw many positive comments and the quote I received, $650 for door-to-door pickup and delivery was very reasonable. I sat on the quote for a few days before I decided I wanted to use DAS. Just two days before we needed to have our truck picked up I called DAS and spoke to a very nice and knowledgeable customer service representative who booked our move and answered all of my questions which helped settle some of my concerns.
The day before our pick up we were given a two hour window of when the driver would be by to pick up our truck. The morning of our scheduled pickup the driver called us to let us know he would be there in 20 minutes which ended up being on the front end of our pickup window. It was nice not having to wait and to have such good communication! The driver was very thorough with the inspection of our vehicle and asked if I wanted to look over the vehicle with him. He was very honest with his depiction of the condition of our truck. The entire pick up process took a maximum of 15 minutes, I signed a form and our truck was loaded on a flat bed truck.
When I was given the delivery estimate with the quote it calculated the delivery time would be about 3 weeks. We didn't really need our vehicle so the delivery time wasn't that important to us, but it was nice to be able to track our vehicle online by the order number. To our surprise it only took 9 days for our truck to arrive. The day before it was delivered I got a phone call from the local DAS facility to give me another 2 hour window of when our truck was going to be delivered. They also confirmed the address and contact information. The day of the delivery came and again the driver called to give me about 20 minutes notice. Again the communication was excellent and very appreciated. When the truck arrived the driver was very friendly and allowed me to look the truck over without any pressure. There was absolutely no damage, my truck didn't have any extra miles put on it, and it was washed and clean. Again, the whole delivery process took no more than 15 minutes and was painless.
I was very pleased with the entire process to move our truck, from start to finish the communication was excellent. At any moment I knew where our truck was just by logging on the DAS website. Even though our truck isn't new or very pretty looking it was treated like it was the most expensive vehicle on the road. I would definitely use DAS if I ever find myself in need of their services.
