| The Truth About AEC |
The truth about AEC is that they charged my checking account without my prior authorization, or any signed contract. Heres how the story goes.
I received a call from A Eastern Connections Inc. on 2/11/2008 at 17:39:11 PM from their phone number 1-516-628-8403 under the caller ID name of V&C WARE & DIST. My wife answered the phone and a person by the name of “Laura” asked for me. My wife told her I was not available, would she like to leave a message. She said she was calling about the quote for me to transport my 2006 Lincoln Town Car from Pennsylvania to Florida, and the price would be $530.00. She asked my wife to tell me to call 1-800-828-9780 with a qoute number of 2768.
I had placed requests from a online website for numerous qoutes, and that is how they got my home phone number. I have received several quotes over the past few days, from many transporters via email, never a phone call.
I returned Laura’s call on 2/12/08 at exactly at 1:14:21 PM. I asked for Laura, but she was not available, and a women by the name of “Christa” asked if she could help. I gave her the quote # 2768, and she told me it would be $530.00 per vehicle. I told her I only wish to ship my 2006 Lincoln Town Car. She then said since it’s only one car it would cost more, a price of $560.00 plus $30.00 Inspection Fee. She then proceeded to tell my that all that’s required is ½ down and ½ at pickup. I told her that I was 100 percent disabled veteran, and I only got paid once a month, and I could place that amount on a credit card. She told me they didn’t accept credit cards, and they only would accept check by phone and C.O.D. at pickup. She then said she could fax me the contract and authorization. I then told her I need to read the contract before I decide, and that she would fax over the contract right away. She said in the meantime if I had decided to go with them, I could give her my checking account number and she would have it ready when I faxed back the contract and authorization. I told her I would give her the information, but to NOT charge my account until they received my okay and signed documents from me.
After 12 minutes the conversation ended. I waited for her to fax over the contract & authorization(s), but received nothing. Late that evening, I decided to check my checking account online, and that’s when I discovered they had already charged my account by debit in the full amount of $590.00. I was furious. On 2/13/08 I went to my bank, and explained that these people had no authorization to withdraw from my account. I went home, and at 9:10 AM I called AEC and asked to speak to Christa, and a women said she wouldn’t be in till after 10AM. I called them again at 11:22 AM and spoke to Christa, and told her they had no right or authorization to withdraw funds from my checking account, and that they had no signed contract, or authorization from me because they never faxed it to my home.
They then hung up the phone, and six minutes later faxed over the documents at 11:28 AM. Also the told me before they hung up that I could “cancel” the order. I said “how do you cancel something when you have no signed agreement“. I started to read the documents, and typed up a notice that stated they DO NOT have my authorization now, or in the future, and faxed it back to them at 1:04 PM. Ten minutes later or so, I received a phone call on my cell phone with a caller ID of “No Name”. At the time I was on the phone with a gentlemen whose name is a mortgage broker and he heard my cell phone ring, and said go ahead and get that. When I answered, a man who said he was the owner and started to threaten me with bodily harm, belittle me, harass me, and I just hung up the phone on him as they done to me.
On 2/14/08 I placed a review on a website called www.transportreview.com which stated the incidents that occurred to me. That’s when I discovered all the other negative reviews about this company, and same incidents that they did to others. At 10:30 AM I received a call with the same caller ID “No Name” and assumed it was this owner of the company to threaten me again, and just opened my cell phone cover and closed it immediately. I then received a call on my home phone at exactly 10:31:02 with a caller id “Private Caller” (The number is listed on my phone call record included). It was “Christa”, and she told me that she spoke to the owner and decided to refund my money if I removed my review from transport review.com. I said I would when I received the money in my account. She hung up, and called back at 11:04:15 AM and said she submitted my refund request, and to prove it she would fax the request to my home, and insisted I remove the review again. I hung up to receive the fax, which came over at 11:06 AM with a caller ID of V&C WARE & DIST.
At 11:54 AM I received another call that shown on my caller ID as “Private Caller”, and I again assumed it was Christa. She stated that I had not removed the review, and when I would. I told her when the funds were back into my account I would be a honest man and remove it, that’s when she and a the owner got irate, and said they would now reverse the refund request. I couldn’t take this harrassment any longer, and I told them I would file criminal charges against them. My health is going downhill fast because of their actions, I just lost my twin brother August 12, 2006.
It didn’t end there, I received a fax from the website www.transportreview.com stating that my review was removed at the request of the owner of A Eastern Connections stating I was NOT a customer of AEC. I contacted the webmaster who I explained that I was in fact a customer, they lied, and I have a invoice to prove it. He asked if I could email him the invoice he would place my review back online. I did, and the review was relisted. This goes to show you the manipulation these people extend themselves to. Because of that review, I received numerous email repsonses from people who wanted to help me, who informed me who to file com[plaints to. I also filed complaints with the NY BBB, FTC, NY Attorney General Office. I should file a complaint with the Civil Rights Division. This company has caused me a great deal of pain & suffering for three days now, but being a 100 percent disabled veteran, they screwed with the wrong person, and I will see to it they are punished for upsetting me and my life. I know my legal rights, and AEC violated them more then any one entity in my life.
