Review:This was my first attempt to move a car. The contract was signed on 6-26-07 and first pickup was 6-28-07. The first driver called would not deliver any further south than Chicago, IL. Several days later 2 different drivers responded (on different days) and each drive told Advance that the car was "too long" for their equipment. The 2nd week of July I called and was told they were trying to locate a driver. On Friday July 13, 2007 I received a telephone message from "Andy" who stated that I was not dealing fairly with the company and had not disclosed additional information about my vehicle. He also alleged that at least 2 more drivers had attempted to pick up the car, but either the seller refused to move the car to a shopping center or plain refused to release it. The seller claims he received no such calls from drivers during that time frame. He then said that they were going to cancel my contract and felt that his company was entitled to "damages" for my and the seller's behavior. Andy finally stated that I was just "one person" and that I would not stop his world--he had other people to worry about. By this time I had submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. On Monday July 16, 2007 I received word from the BBB
that Advance Logistics had "cancelled the order." On Tuesday July 17, 2007 my credit card had been charged an additional $100.00--the day after the BBB stated my order had been cancelled.
The same day Robin called and left me a telephone voice mail that, in so many words, I was a terribly horrible (my words) person and that she was going to charge me an additional $100.00. At this time I submitted a complaint to the New York District Attorney, Office of Consumer Affairs. To date, the only response from Advance to the DA is "vendor was unaware vehicle was a hearse." At no time did Advance Logistics ask me any additional information regarding my vehicle. I can't imagine what the whole problem is/was, since my car is only 6 inches longer than a standard factory Cadillac Fleetwood. Seems to me that if more than one driver says a vehicle is too long that a dispatcher would ask additional questions. As a customer, I do not know what communication takes place between drivers and dispacther. In conclusion, my bank refunded my monies paid for the service not performed. Based on other reviews I have read in this forum, it seems to me that the folks at Advance should take more time in dealing with their customers instead of writing snide rebuttal remarks to reviews posted against them.

this customer never disclosed tous that the vehicle was a hearse, which would be 1 1/2 times the length of a normal car. When the first driver arrived he saw that this was a hearse and had scheduled for a car on the trailer, thus he could not fit the vehicle on and left. The seller was totally uncooperative and would not bring the car to a place where the car could be loaded onto the carrier, at this point we could not send any more carriers to pick up this vehicle.
As a result of the forgoing we had to cancel the contract and pay the first driver for going and trying topickup the hearse.
