| A good experience overall |
I used GT Auto Transport because my friend had an excellent experience with them in 2006 and because their quote was towards the lower end of the quotes I received (although it was not the lowest). Overall, I had a satisfactory experience with them. It was easy to communicate with them, easy to make payments, and they arranged for a reliable driver to take my car across the country. The car arrived in the same condition as it left, and it arrived in a timely fashion (8 days coast to coast). I have only two small complaints. First, that I was quoted a total of $1055, $200 upfront and then the balance to the driver upon delivery. When the driver arrived at my destination, his paperwork indicated that I owed him $900 not $855. The driver (Roger) was very kind about the situation and accepted the $855 and said he would look into the discrepancy with GT Auto Transport. That is the last I have heard of the payment situation, and it has been 8 days since I took receipt of the car. My second minor complaint is that I had to call to find out when my car would be picked up. I called once, two weeks prior to my availability date, and left a message. I received a prompt reply saying that it had not been rescheduled. That was fine. The day before my car was available, I still had not heard from GT Auto Transport about when it would be picked up. I called and the customer support representative very brusquely said, "I just talked to you about this last week!" Nevertheless, she looked up my order and found that it was scheduled for pick up the next day or the day after. As it turned out, the driver wanted to pick it up early, the same day that I called to inquire about my order. If I hadn't called, my car would not have been ready to ship. I would have preferred that GT Auto Transport contact me instead of me having to contact them. Those are my only two complaints, and they are both minor. I think this is a good company to use.
