Mr. Wang MUST be mistaking OUR company with one of 5 other brokers where he ALSO placed his order. Even though he did NOT have a deposit and broke the golden rule of listing with a second broker - let alone a 5th broker, we still got him serviced so fast he did NOT even get his agreement back to us before we had a truck.
We don't know what GUY he is talking about because Cindy wrote and serviced the order. He must be upset with one of the OTHER brokers.
Most importantly let us understand the concept of a deposit as well as duplicate listings. Truck drivers will not call an order where their is no deposit or a duplicate listing for fear the vehicle will NOT be there when they arrive for pickup. Drivers typically learn this lesson BEFORE their first truck payment is made (or missed due to this very tough lesson.)
When a company advises you that you can place your order without a deposit, it is usually due to their very poor dispatch failure rate which can be up to 20% in many firms. if you exceed 2% of charge backs or returns with MasterCard or Visa, the firm will lose its merchant card privileges immediately. At Honest Auto Movers we boast a zero percent dispatch failure rate with only 3 failures in the last 17 months moving over 150 cars per week.
Drivers often pick loads off the load board placed by Honest Auto Movers at slightly less money due to their confidence that when they receive the dispatch sheet it is complete and the vehicle is ready for pickup and will always BE THERE. If not, the customers' deposit might go to the driver as a consolation prize to ease their pain.
Many brokers and carriers do NOT take deposits due to their lack of confidence to service and order and do NOT want to risk a charge back or return.
I don't understand what any of our reps could have done to misrepresent anything to do with this particular order solely due to how fast it got fulfilled and at the exact same pricing Mr. Wang had already approved with the other brokers. [ view ] |

All potential customers who contact me are emailed and told about the drivers load board and how their pricing is solely dictated by the sales orders that have already been placed.
Let me begin my reply by stating that Dekas order was the result of a referral of two relatives that had already moved 3 vehicles along her route from San Diego, CA to Green Bay, WI. She knew exactly how we operate from the February moves of 4-dr sedans and a Toyota Sienna.
The short story is simply that Deka did NOT want to pay the current pricing and very soon thereafter America had a HUGE fuel price increase. On top of that, there were NOT enough vehicles to warrant a driver making a run from either the San Diego or LA area to MI. When other shippers finally placed orders to make up a full load it required pricing of $850 to the driver as I had been advising all along.
She got very nervous and listened to the other brokers who were calling and attempting to steal the order from me. She even admitted to me she had done so and we have proof of said action because normally my fee is earned at that point and I stop my efforts. I advised her with 3 brokers listing her vehicle, that no driver would call any of us thus jinxing her ability to get a ride and also driving her OWN price upward as she competes against herself.
In the end the driver that picked her up was solely a result of the efforts of Honest Auto Movers, the same driver who did Mohammads move (her friend who referred her to me). The other broker is trying to claim they were the movers and shakers here. I simply have a clause in my terms and conditions that states if there is another broker involved, I keep the deposit. In this case I actually did get the driver to her doorstep for LESS money than the other broker.
I call the company Honest Auto Movers because I am constantly keeping the drivers, carriers, other brokers and in this case the customers HONEST. Deka never told me any of the above but rather advised me that she was giving up and driving her vehicle to Green Bay. My driver called as I was about to process her refund and reported that he had her vehicle on his trailer. The same driver who wanted the vehicle the week before for $850 which Deka declined. Sorry Deka, I kept your deposit and easily won the charge back attempt. [ view ] |

As you know rates are solely dictated by the others who have already posted sales orders along your route at the time you want to be transported. I don't set the rates but rather pay extra for some special tools to help me report the current sales orders to you. Transporting a car is EXACTLY like trading a stock on Wall Street with only one exception: Insider trading is legal! So shame on the broker or carrier who allows his customer to miss a truck or two over $20.00 which can be plainly viewed at the drivers load board. Many shippers rent a car for an extended time period and if they only knew they misses a few trucks over $10 or $20 they would gladly pay it.
All Honest Auto Movers sales begin with the explanation of exactly how the bidding process works and the methods we use to search for 1 of 5,000 drivers to choose your load beyond the use of Central Dispatch (the load board) where all drivers go to choose their loads. That way when they see the updated load board 5 days before they have to be shipped we can make a minor adjustment if required. This results in a close to zero percentage dispatch failure rate in an industry that has an 11 percent dispatch failure rate.
Knowing when to use door-to-terminal-to-door transports also greatly help in shipping vehicles to or from non-metro areas. Not everything can be door-to-door. [ view ] |

[ More ] | | On November 21st at 12:51am Mr. Jeff Howze went online and submitted a request for quotes but skipped the field advising the vehicle type 'a 4-dr sedan' verses an 'SUV' or 'Pickup' so the automated system defaulted to the largest vehicle type and automatically quoted him a very high price of $938 instantly.
At 9:14am Capt Mark of Honest Auto Movers reviewed the automated quotes and changed the vehicle type field to reflect a 4-dr sedan and had the computer auto quote again. Which came to $501 to the driver plus $125 deposit (Honest Auto Mover Fee). This reflected the lowest pricing that has worked in the last 30 to 60 days based on a historical review of all sales orders posted verses sales orders accepted by drivers.
At 2:55pm that same day Mr. Howze placed his own order based on a price of $626 without speaking with anyone at Honest Auto Movers to date. Again he typed in all his own shipper, pickup and destination information which prompted Capt Mark to review the order as soon as he saw it in the system.
At 5:58pm Capt Mark reviewed Mr. Howze submission and emailed back an order form for Mr. Howze’s review and approval.
At 6:03pm Mr. Howze provided a credit card payment of $125.00 (refundable deposit). It was clearly explained the very first telephone conversation to accept payment that Honest Auto Movers holds this deposit in a separate escrow account and the deposit is refundable for ANY reason until the driver is assigned or if a second broker or carrier is involved in the transaction. This prevents double listings onto Central Dispatch which we all know leads to irking the drivers who will now avoid the listing and jinx ANY broker’s efforts to provide a service to the customer.
In a discussion with Mr. Howze, Capt Mark clearly pointed out that the computer system quoted a LOW price and Mr. Howze clearly stated that all the quotes were around $625 to $700 and he was interested in doing this for the lowest price possible and that he was NOT concerned with dates. So Capt Mark advised him he would do his very best but that Jeff would have to be prepared to get serious in a few weeks should we not get much activity. Capt Mark also advised Jeff that Honest Auto Movers doesn’t simply post the load to Central and wait for the phone to ring but rather gets very-much on the offensive. Capt Mark invited him to call him nightly or every other night to learn of any activity if he did not hear from Capt Mark first.
From 11/22 through 11/30 Capt Mark advised Mr. Howze of the various drivers who wanted the load for just $75 more but Jeff wanted to hold out for the low price. These conversations included emailing of load board screen shots of the drivers’ load board showing which vehicles were moving along the route and at what pricing. Capt Mark received an Email from Jeff Howze cancelling the order at 5:56pm 11/30. Jeff also called Honest Auto Movers to advise that he simply chose NOT to ship the vehicle. Capt Mark advised him that Honest Auto Movers would be processing his refund of the deposit within a few hours both in writing and via telephone conversation. Everything was very cordial. He advised me that he simply could not afford spend any more on this transaction and assured Capt Mark he was NOT looking to simply book with someone else. No one at Honest Auto Movers realized at this point that Mr. Howze was lying regarding everything. He had in fact booked with United Road for the same higher price for which all the drivers were asking during the week.
At 6:14 pm, Capt Mark received a call from a carrier, Auto Relocation Services advising him there was a double posting. Out of respect for Capt Mark they called him first to advise him of the shenanigans and that United Road put the listing up in the last 2 hours for $76 more (the exact price Capt Mark had been telling Mr. Howze daily for over a week that was required.)
Capt Mark called United Road to verify that this was indeed Jeff Howze and they confirmed they had just gotten the order when providing a dispatch sheet to Capt Mark.
Capt Mark simply showed Jeff via email a screen shot of their listing on Central Dispatch and advised him as per their many conversations and item 20 on the Honest Auto Mover standard agreement that there would NOT be a refund of his deposit because he ALMOST thwarted efforts with a second broker to assign a driver. Also, Honest Auto Movers was solely responsible for bringing Auto Relocation to the table as we had been speaking every other day for a week about getting his price to $565 from $501.
There was nothing nasty in any of my emails (nor any nasty conversation) but rather a very matter-of-fact chronicle of what did happen. Capt Mark pointed out why the company name is “Honest Auto Movers” in a very nice email as our company ethics and honesty is never in question but rather we are the ones keeping the drivers, the carriers, and the customers honest. This is simply a perfect example of someone being caught red-handed in a lie that simply cost him his $125.
He lost the charge back with the merchant card service company and Honest Auto Movers has kept our A+ rating in this industry which is very rare. [ view ] |
