We do NOT use a computer to generate quotes so I knew the other broker would NOT be able to move your vehicle because of your very challenging pick up location (a peninsula in the Chesapeake Bay!). I was honest with you and told you that it was NOT going to move yesterday and gave you options over the course of some weeks suggesting a pick up location to meet a carrier at a more central location. I received a quote for $575 dollars which when i contacted the company a week or so later i was told that it can still be done... Andrew had originally opted for our budget rate of $595 which comes with a 10 day window for pickup which we would have fulfilled, but on the first available pickup date, he opted for our expedite service which got his vehicle picked up and delivered in the time frame of his choosing. Here at Autostar we appreciate the hard times, and do offer budget rates to all our customers who have some flexibility in transporting their vehicles, as well as expedite service for those who need it. | Car Delivery | | The experience was disappointing. Communication was a bit weak. They underbid and, immediately after receiving my deposit, tried to raise the price. This, I believe, is common in the industry. Buyer beware!! [ View ] | | Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Though I am sorry to hear that you felt that you experience was unsatisfactory, I would like to remind you that the total cost of the move was less than the originally quoted price. At your request, we lowered the price $50 with the understanding that it may take a few more days to find a carrier. While making calls to carriers to confirm pickup, a carrier called us offering to move your vehicle and requested $50 more to do so (the price of the original quote). We always strive to maintain open lines of communication between our agents, customers, and carriers. For this reason, any and every option is brought to our customers attention. Failure to have called you with this option would have been both unprofessional and negligent.
When a second carrier called asking for $25 more, we took money out of our own pockets to have the vehicle moved quickly. The vehicle was delivered in excellent condition in only 6 days on a route that normally takes 7-10 days. At no point did we require you to pay more money and, in fact, did just the opposite. We helped you save money and have the vehicle delivered faster than normal. AutoStar did not, does not, and will never underbid any transport. Thank you again for choosing AutoStar. | Damaged the Drive Shaft of my vehicle | | YOU MAY BE WONDERING WHY I RATED THIS COMPANY WITH 5 STARS...I DIDN'T...IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER WHAT YOU RATE THE COMPANY, IT GETS FIVE STARS. SO, PLEASE UNDERSTAND, I WOULD NEVER USE AUTOSTAR AGAIN.
The carrier (Ernie's Transfer of Arizona) se... [ More ] | | We at AutoStar are very sorry Eddy had a bad experience with the assigned carrier, and the alleged damages to the vehicle. However, when a damage claim is opened, there must be evidence that the carrier was negligent and caused the damages. The most important document in initiating and successfully navigating a damage claim is the Bill of Lading, which is also the inspection report. The inspection report for Eddy's vehicle has no notation of damages whatsoever. The vehicle was received and signed for stating the vehicle was received in the same condition as when it was loaded. Despite this fact and against our advice, Eddy wished to proceed with filing the claim with the insurance company. We assisted Eddy in this endeavor and hoped to push the insurance company into at least sending out an adjustor to take a look at the vehicle. However, when the insurance company received the paperwork, they took note of the inspection report and immediately denied Eddy's claim. AutoStar did multiple phone interviews with the carrier as well, and their response was there was no way they could have done this damage as they utilize canvas wheel straps, not chains, and certainly not attached to the drive shaft. Without the proper documentation, it is impossible to successfully pursue a claim against the carrier and the insurance company. Simply put, Eddy provided absolutely no evidence the carrier damaged his vehicle. We do wish Eddy the best in the future.

Let me tell you that we worked really hard to get a reputable carrier within the original budget during those 8 days, but that part of CA (Prundale) can be a bit difficult since it is about 45 miles from I-5. When a partner carrier showed interest, but required mor money, we decided to present you that option and lower our broker fee from $175 to $100 to get this transportation done. These are not excuses, I just wanted to clarify that we did.
