| POOR DELIVERY SERVICE | | When we first contacted AAAll States Auto, everything went great. The vehicle was picked up in a timely manner. It was picked up on Wednesday, 3/16/2011. Once the trucking company picked up the vehicle, all communication was lost. After many atte... [ More ] | | I just found out about the driver having oily clothes and being rude to our customer. This is unacceptable in our eyes also and have put Salazar Transport on our do NOT use list.
As far as the customer attempting to contact me several times, I do not remember if he tried to contact me by phone or email. I was on vacation and I was coming back to Iowa from Arizona. I took 4 days to come back to Iowa and I was out of touch by email and phone for several days especially over a weekend when I was on vacation.
It is not unusual for a salesman for any company not to know if a vehicle has been picked up as the dispatch department contacts the customer when a vehicle was picked up and gives the customer the name and phone number of the truck company.
The customer said that I said - I was out of the picture. What I meant was that the driver NEVER calls the salesman to tell me where he is at or if he is delayed, so I am out of the picture in the truck drivers eyes. Matter of fact, the driver doesn't even know who the salesman is, so the drivers NEVER call the salesmen anyways. I never know if there is a problem unless the customer contacts me, as the driver and customer normally communicates with each other after the pickup occurs to set up delivery dates. I do NOT get involved with the delivery schedule as I am not riding in the truck and can not possible know where the truck is at and what the trucks actual delivery schedule will be. The customer can call the truck driver any time he wants, but if the driver does not answer, that is when the customer can call me and let me know he has a problem. I can only call the truck after the customer notifies me of a problem.
Unfortunately, I was on vacation and I know there was a point where I was out of touch for a few days. When there are delivery issues, the customer is the first one to know. The customer did get ahold of me at one point or I got one of the messages and I did call the truck right away. The driver said he was broke down, which no one can control when a truck breaks down.
As far as oil on the car. That is always a concern for every truck driver nationwide. Even non salvage cars leak oil. I seldom ever had a load of vehicles on my trailer and I didn't have a leak-er somewhere. The problem is that you can not tell which vehicles is going to leak until you get down the road aways and then it is too late. If you do not want to take a chance on oil leaking on your vehicle, just ask for top load only as we do not charge extra for this service like most brokers do. Just tell any broker that you want to use the top load option when placing the order.
If I had been able to be contacted right away by the customer, the delivery schedule would NOT have changed as the driver got there as soon as he could after getting the truck fixed.
