| AWFUL COMPANY | | I HAD MY VEHICLE A CUSTOM 1972 CAPRICE CLASSIC SHIPPED FROM JAX FLA TO HI. A UNIQUE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHIPPING OF MY VEHICLE. I CONTACTED THEM TO MAKE SURE THE SHIPMENT WAS GOING WELL AND WAS TOLD THAT MY EMERGECCY BRAKE WAS BROKEN. I KNOW ... [ More ] | | We did everything possible to make the vehicle acceptable for Matson Shipping and convenient for the customer. Matson requires the vehicle to be fully functioning; we do not necessarily use the emergency brake because we tie the vehicle down to the truck. Upon delivering to Matson, an inspection was completed in which Matson discovered an inoperable emergency brake. We brought the vehicle back to our yard, causing us to miss a pick up since the Caprice took up that space, and took it to a local mechanic shop where they repaired the emergency brake. The customer did not have the funds to pay for the repairs, so the owner Mike paid for and billed the customer. Matson Shipping in Long Beach also requires everything in the vehicle to be secured, that is why we took the speakers to get mounted. All the customer had to do is pay for the clips used to mount the speakers. Our company does not hold responsibility for any mechanical or electrical functions of the vehicle; all we do is transport the vehicle. There was also barely any gas left in the vehicle, so we had to go out and get a couple gallons of gas to start the vehicle; we did not charge the customer for this. The owner personally took care of all the things done on this vehicle. We only charged the customer for the repairs, a week of storage, redelivery, and the payment for the transport which was supposed to be paid at pick up. Matson shipping also does not accept dirty vehicles. The vehicle was sitting in our yard for almost a month, so we took the vehicle for a wash before delivering, customer was not charged for that as well. Up until then, the vehicle was sitting in our yard because the customer did not have sufficient funds for the repairs, etc. Since we faced these complications with regard to delivering the vehicle, the shipment deadline had passed, and the vehicle was sitting in Matson’s lot until the next shipment. The vehicle was also shipped via an open carrier. Small scratches and dirt are all results of shipping a vehicle via an open carrier. Mike had to drive to the body shop, then a Western Union to receive payment, get the car washed, purchase gas, and get the stereo mounted at a stereo shop. This was done in the course of a week in which Mike took time out of his personal things to get this done. Everything done for this customer was for their convenience, what we did for this customer is something others wouldn’t even deal with. We expected a 5 star rating from this customer, we are surprised that we received a rating like this from them.

| Awful Service | | I hired National Auto Transport to ship my truck from Hawaii to Florida. I did not know they were a broker, so my car was shipped from Hawaii to California my Matson Shipping (who did a fine job) and then picked up by A Unique Shipping Company in Ca... [ More ] | | Our company is a carrier company. We are not National Transport. It is not our fault that National did not answer phone calls or contact the customer because that is not our company. Also, we were scheduled to deliver the car, and we let the customer know a day in advance that we would be delivering. Unfortunately, the truck had a mechanical problem and he had to stop in order to get it fixed. We contacted the customer the next day to let them know that the driver had a problem with his truck, and he would not be able to deliver. The driver had to wait for the mechanic shop to order parts, so we let the customer know we are not sure when the truck will be done, but we will keep them updated. The driver ended up having to wait 2 days for the parts, and another day for them to fix the truck. We kept the customer updated, but they were angry about having to wait. It is not our fault and there was nothing we could have done to make the transport faster. We did our best to keep the customer updated and get them their car as soon as possible. Also, our trucks are too big to maneuver, therefore they cannot get into residential areas. We need to deliver on big streets to avoid the risk of damages. It is very common for car haulers to unload cars in the middle turn lane. [ view ] |

| A pleasure to do business with | | First time shipper. Car was transported from CA to FL.
Mike and his staff at Unique Transport were great! We had some "personal" issues in trying to get the shipping party to release the car, and Mike was very helpful and understanding.

| Poor Customer Service | | The transporting of my vehicle had been a complete nightmare. To begin I used a broker in Florida arrange the transporing of my car and that is a story in itself.
But, A Unique had a driver today that was the rudest and nastiest person possible. ... [ More ] | | Our driver was trying to deliver this car as close as possible to the address. The truck is very big, and therefore hard to maneuver, therefore, the driver was unable to take it to the door of the customer. He stopped right across the street from the address. The customer walked across the street and told the driver she could not take the car across because it was too big. This did not make sense because it was a sedan. The customer’s husband then called the driver and told him he has to take the truck to the door. My driver let him know that it was not possible, and the customer got angry with the driver. My driver then unloaded the car, and told the customer he would drive it down the street to the apartment complex. He left his truck across the street unattended, and drove the car across the street to the driveway. The customer was very rude to him, although he was trying to give them good service. The husband called the driver again and told him that it was still not to the door, as it was in the driveway of the apartment complex. My driver was very frustrated, but he did not curse at the customer. He left the car in the driveway and went back to his truck. The driver went out of his way to make it more convenient for the customer, but they still were not satisfied. This customer should have given us a positive review for the drivers hard work and for going the extra mile. [ view ] |

Our drivers have 10 deliveries and 10 pickups each trip. The dates that are provided are estimated. We need a 3-day window for all pickups. If the customer was charged by the broker for an exact pickup, we were unaware of this. We do not promise one day pickups. Also, the customer was informed about the delay by the driver and was informed for pickup 1 day in advance. Our drivers do a full inspection during pickup of the vehicle. Customers are responsible for making sure that the car is in the same shape during delivery. If there is a damage upon delivery of the vehicle, the customer must inform the driver right away to avoid future problems. Also, our drivers only driver the vehicle on and off the truck. They do not listen to music inside the cars, therefore it is impossible for them to blow the speakers. Customers need to thoroughly inspect the vehicles when delivered to avoid such problems. | Late | | Driver was a day late to pick up my vehicle then the company dispatcher claimed that they had 'tried to reach me all day'. They accused me to be a liar and have insulted me. Horrible customer service. Not reliable! [ View ] | | Our company follows the same procedures for all of our customers. We call the customers 1 day in advance for pickup and delivery. Our driver also calls the customers 1 hour before arrival for pickup and delivery. We called this customer to let them know that we will be picking up the next day, but there was no answer. We left the customer a voicemail. We did not hear back to the customer until 2 days later. Luckily, my driver was still in the area and we were able to pick up the vehicle.
Pickup dates are not exact, but estimated. That is why we have a 3-day window for pickup. Our drivers deliver and pickup 10 each trip. This is why it is difficult to give exact pickup and delivery dates.
