| Just the Facts | | The reason I went with 1on 1 Transport was because they "had" a driver doing my route who could pick up in a few days. So put down the deposit to show I was legit and a very fair price of $800 (there were others who could have got it picked... [ More ] |

[ View ] | | Pursuant to Mr. Twun's negative rating, A 1on1 Transport Services, Inc is giving a response based on the information we have gathered in his file.
On November 1, 2011, Mr. Twun contacted our company, requesting an estimate to move two tractors for him from Georgetown, Ohio to Bayonne, NJ. . We quoted him a price which he found to be higher than he was willing to pay. He requested that we post these jobs for a lower price than the ones quoted to him. We agreed to fulfill his request, but we WARNED HIM that although we have agreed to post the tractors for the price he was requesting, we did not think we were going to be able to find him a driver at these prices, and that there was a strong possibility that these prices might have to be bumped to meet the driver's market price value. We opened two separate files and charged him a down payment for each one of these jobs.
Noticing that we were not receiving any phone calls from any of the transporting companies, we became suspicious that he could had possibly been double booked with another company, and to our surprise we found his tractors being booked (not with another company) but with two other companies for a COD amount of $600.00 which is clearly a violation under our contract and definite violation of Central Dispatch's guidelines. As we all know, when a vehicle is double or triple booked on Central Dispatch, no driver wants to touch that hot burner and they just keep going around it and as a result, we were not getting any calls for his tractors.
Although the tractor in question was never removed from Central Dispatch, on November 2, 2011, Mr. Twum called us to let us know that the tractors needed to be at the Port for shipment no later than Monday, November 17, 2011 or they would have to sit there for two months, and he needed to know what it was going to take to get them transported. Again, we proceeded to try to help him to find a driver and we did find a driver who was willing to pick the load for an additional $300.00 (which by the way, was the original price we quoted him).
Mr. Twum said he was not willing to pay the additional $300.00 offer and asked us to cancel the deal.
We advised him that as per the clause in our contract, he needed to place this request in writing and I (William) promised him that I will be fair in the situation both for his sake and the sake of the company. Mr. Twum sent his written request to us on November 7, 2011. On November 8, 2011, we responded to Mr. Twum letting him know that we have received his request and that we will look into the specifics in his case and will make a determination within the following 30 days of his request.
His request was looked into it and my final response to him as follows: "Dear Mr. Nana:
I looked into the matter we discussed this morning and here are my findings:
1) Job #300094 - There is nothing I could do with this one as far as returning the deposit because of your double booking situation with Central Dispatch and because a driver was found for you.
2) Job #300174 - I am going to be able to have a refund processed for you on this one because this one was not double booked and we were not able to find a driver for you during the window dates in our contract with you. Keep in mind that based on the agreement in the contract a 20% will be deducted from the down payment for processing and handling. The refund will be processed within the next 30 days. I will get it done for you as soon as I can possibly get to it. It was a pleasure talking to you and I am glad I was able to help. Thank you for your patience."
Eight days later, his deposit was credited back to his credit card as evidenced in an email sent to him on this very same day as follows: "Dear Mr. Twum:
This is to advise you that a deposit refund has been processed and credited to your account. A receipt to include a summary of such transaction has been sent to you via email. Thank you for your patience."
It amazes me to see how easy and deliberate some customers are in slandering others when they don't get what they want, even when the fair decision has been made.
I want the reader to know that based on the facts posted in my response, Mr. Twum's negative remark is unfounded, unjust, unfair and he should be ashamed to have taken the energy and the time to try to hurt the image and reputation of our company.

We at 1on1 would like to apologize to you for the inconvenience. As per our knowledge the transport of your vehicle was scheduled to be picked up on the agreed upon dates as discussed in your contract. Unfortunately, we did come to find out, the driver had a malfunction on his Hauler and was unable to provide the service for you.
