[ More ] | | Here at Lightning Auto Carriers we enter into a contract for a reason. The definition of a contract is: an agreement with specific terms between two or more persons or entities.. Now in the contract the customer Mr.Rengaswamy entered into "the pick your own price program" witch is a program where we let the customer list the vehicle for a price that is not unrealistic but below what other units are shipping for. The purpose for listing a unit at a cheap rate is to try and get a driver that has a spot open to fill and will take the load for the listed price. Records show that 50% of the time we are successful in getting the vehicle shipped for at least 25% cheaper then what comparable units are shipping for. In this specific contract we are allowed up to 10 business days to render service under this program. The original price quote I gave was for $775.00 witch would be $625 to the driver. At the original price quoted the probability of getting a driver within 24-48 hrs is very high. This is what I had explained to the customer Mr.Rengaswamy wanted to try a total price of $625 witch is $475 to the driver. I followed up with the customer once a day explaining to him that it was not shipping. On 11/4 I had a driver call on the load for $725 witch would be $575 to the driver and $150 to us the broker. He declined and then on the 7th I called to follow up and he had booked the transport with another broker. Now we had done a good amount of dispatch work for the customer and still had sufficient time to move it. The custumer cancelled 5 business days after booking the transport not allowing Lightning Auto Carrier to successfully render the service. We are a 5-star rated company and we work very hard to keep the rating as so. To your claims listed above: "These people have given me the wrong quotation and then taken the order. I cancelled the order but they have taken the DEPOSIT of $150 from me." - - - Now, what you have decided to leave out of your stated claim: Muhammad set up his order on October 14th 2011 and his only concern was that we have a carrier have his vehicle dropped off Oct. 30 - Nov. 2. Knowing this route can take up to 7 or 8 days, I distinguished his first available shipping date at Oct. 22. He was aware of this. He signed a contract at a price of $750.00 total (including $150 broker fee), so $600 left for the carrier on delivery. The contract HE SIGNED states there is no guarantee's on dates especially and that surcharges may apply in specific areas. It also states that we do not bill our $150 broker fee until we have assigned said carrier at stated price. So he is at no risk as long as he gives us the 10 business day window we asked for in the contract that again, HE SIGNED. Why he was billed: Carrier called on his vehicle load and gave us his scheduling and pricing. He asked $150 more than quoted amount and we called Muhammad to see if he would be interested in securing this truck so that everything could be booked and taken care of. We told him it was only an option and that we could leave it posted if he was not interested in paying more, but then he reacted. Stated, we are liars and he rather go pay another company the extra money and not us. He asked to have the order cancelled and cancelled over email, even after being told he would be billed for the amount of $150.00. This cancellation occured on Oct 18, which was 4 full days before his "first available pickup date!" He did not give us the slightest oppurtunity to attract a carrier at the lower rate. He was given the lower rate because he wanted to save money but he was explained the risk. Needless to say, I was informed he booked with the same carrier through another broker at the same increased price of $150.00. [ view ] |

| Overcharge, Poor Customer service, BEWARE! | | I was quoted an all-inclusive price of $1,150 from Lightning Auto Carriers. When I called for delivery of my car, I was told price was now $1,175 and the only way to get my car was to pay the higher price. I paid the higher price to retrieve my car... [ More ] | | The quoted price was $1150 to move the customer "Thurston's" vehicle from Washington D.C to Washington State. Lightning Auto Carriers takes a standard broker fee of $150 witch is very fair on a cross country route. You will find that most will take in-between $200-300 minimum on a route like this. The vehicle was picked up on the exact date it was scheduled and delivered on time. Everything went perfect; in fact Thurston was a reference from someone who we had done great work for as well. Now the carrier wanted $1025 to deliver the vehicle not the $1000 because of an address change on the customers behalf. The $25 was just to cover the expenses it would cost. Upon delivery Thurston was very upset that he had to come out of pocket for an extra $25 needless to say his vehicle was perfectly delivered after a 3,000 mile trip. He contact me very upset and I said I would DO MY BEST to get the refund. After coming to the conclusion that Lightning was not at fault we contacted the carrier. The carrier stated that they charged the $1025 and tried to explain why to the customer. Customer stated "but we were quoted $1,150 from the broker and that is an all-inclusive price". The customer just was not understanding the extra money was for fuel and re-routing cost. Upon telling Thurston he was not eligible for a $25 refund he was very upset and that he would contact the BBB and Transport Reviews. So we bit the bullet and sent the $25 to Thurston, it took a week to get there from FL to WA. Now we told Thurston the check was on the way and as soon as he got the check he posted to negative review! We simply asked him to take it down once the check cleared and he said that would be fair. Here is where it gets interesting... Now Thurston tries to extort us by saying "refund me the full broker fee of $150 and I will take the review down and let the BBB know that the complaint has been satisfied". Lightning Auto Carriers is refused to be a victim of extortion. At the end of the day the customer Thurston was being very unreasonable and for some reason thought he should get the transport done for a discounted price with no broker fee!! This just didn't make sense to us so instead of giving in to clear extortion, we tell our side of the story. Thanks!!
