I selected AmeriFreight to ship a car because they were highly rated by several rating services. I knew nothing about this type of service, but had heard some horror stories about experiences people have had with the industry. I was uncomfortable and nervous about shipping car. I was trying to ship a car from Chicago to North Caroline on behalf of a relative who lived in North Carolina and whose son had passed away in Chicago. Since I lived in the Chicago area, the mother requested my assistance in shipping the car to NC. There are so many of these car shipping services available, and a lot of them had very good reviews from different review services. I was reluctant to rely solely on the reviews. I picked 3 services that I called directly for a quote and decided on AmeriFreight based on my discussion with Ali Miller, the AmeriFreight representative. Ali was very pleasant and helpful throughout the process. She explained to me how the car shipping business worked. She explained that she was a broker who would accept my shipping request and work with me to find a driver/trucking company who would actually pick up and deliver the car. She answered all my questions about the entire process and helped me to feel more comfortable about shipping the car. She communicated with me on a regular basis from initial contact to final delivery to make sure everything was going ok.
I received a call within days of placing my order informing me that a shipper had agreed to ship my car for a price that I was happy with. I spoke with the driver, Chris with Auto Movers, LLC, the next day. Chris gave me a day and time for pick-up (and expected delivery). The car was picked up within the time agreed to. Chris called my relative in North Carolina to provide a more specific delivery time and followed up that day to let her know that he was running late and to provide a new delivery time. The car was picked up in Chicago on Tuesday evening and delivered in NC on Wednesday Afternoon. My relative was happy with how the delivery was handled.
Overall I was very pleased with the service. AmeriFreight and Ali as well as Chris provided excellent service. I would recommend or use again.
