Ali at AmeriFrieght was prompt and helpful. She called me multiple times per week throughout this whole process to make sure I was kept up to speed and happy. With that being said, her quote offer for shipping my VW Beetle from OH to CA was very off. I was quoted with $1,095 and ended up paying $1,450. Once Ali gave me my initial offer, another representative from another company contacted me to tell me that my offer was way too low and that my car was going to sit in OH for weeks. I was scared, but trusted that Amerifrieght would get me the lowest price. 8 or 9 days into my 15 day pick-up window, Ali called and said that a carrier could take my car for $350 more than expected. Fearful that my car would continue to sit in OH for weeks on end, I accepted the offer.
My carrier told me that my car would be picked up on a Friday night between 6 and 10 p.m. I alerted my family back in Ohio because I had already made me move to CA. They waited for four hours and nobody came to get my car, and nobody called me to tell me whats going on. I called my carrier and Ali all night, but received no responses. The next morning the carrier called and said that they could pick my car up in the next hour. I had to rush around to see which family member could leave the office to meet him. It was a HUGE inconvenience and I had little explanation for the lateness. When Ali called to see what the problem was I explained what had happened and barely received an apology, nor was I compensated or anything.
The pick-up was a bit confusing, but that was due to a language barrier with the carrier. The car was in good condition, but a bit dirty from the ride. I had to fix one light that had wiggled out of place, and I am working on getting that reimbursed.
Overall the AmeriFrieght is a decent shipping company, but beware of the offer quote you receive. Do your research and compare quotes from different companies. Do not just go with the lowest offer, because you will end up paying more!

We apologize for any inconvenience this customer has experienced. When shipping at the economy rate, there is always a chance the rates may increase. However, our customers always have the option to refuse the rate offered whereby we will try use another carrier that has a better counter offer. Our customer service agents are in constant communication with carriers to make sure that pick-up and delivery times are met, but in some circumstances, due to miscommunications, we are not informed of schedule changes.
