I needed to have a vehicle transported for my elderly in-laws, who were returning from Arizona to Montana. AmeriFreight was a highly rated broker by the Better Business Bureau, so I selected them. The quote came soon enough, with an agent's name on it. I completed the contract and selected a ten day time frame to have the vehicle picked up. I waited patiently, with no assurance from the agent that the vehicle would be picked up on time. I finally phoned the agent who explained that there were no trucks willing to take the vehicle at the quoted price. I made the mistake of assuming that the price I was quoted was a reasonable price. As a last resort, I contacted another agent at the same company and explained that I would pay whatever the prevailing rate was, as long as the vehicle was picked up on schedule. I paid over five hundred dollars more than the original quote, and the vehicle was not picked up on time. The delivery itself was fine, though. Perhaps I was not as demanding as I should have been, but I feel that AmeriFreight should have had better communication. My in-laws were forced to delay their trip. I will not recommend AmeriFreight.
