In early June we contacted Amerifreight and agreed on a price for relocating our car for a price quote of $1,350.00. We advised Amerifreight that our airplane flight to Washington from Maine would begin June 26th, and that we would want our car in route as early as June 20th. On June 21st, having not heard from Amerifrieght about pickup day and time , we began calling them and finally got a call back that said they were having trouble getting the transport. On June 24th we had to call several time before we were able to talk with Bob and we got the same status of no available transporters. On the evening of June 25th we were contacted by Bob and advised that to get transportation, we would have to pay another $350. We agreed to pay the additional cost, but they still couldn't give us a pickup date. Late June 25th we had to make new arrangements of where and from whom to pickup the car because our plane was leaving early the next morning. They finally picked up the car 2 weeks after we left Maine and when the car was received at our new home, the final cost paid to Amerifreight was $1,745 versus the original quote given to us of $1,350. So a little word of advice, if your going to do business with them, expect to pay a lot more than your quoted up front.

It is regrettable that we were unable to have better success with this shipment. Our estimates are based on distance and some measure of route difficulty. Unfortunately, some locations prove to be much more problematic to ship from. We always try our utmost to move our customers vehicles at the most cost effective rates and as close to the required deadlines. Unlike the majority of our orders we could not make this work as well as we wanted to and we fully understand the customer's dissatisfaction. We hope to learn from this experience to improve our ability to be more accurate on our estimates and determination of isolated or remote pickup or drop off locations.
