I was having an auto picked up and transported about 280 miles to a shop where some restoration work was to be performed. Externally my auto was in nice shape even though it is a 1985 vintage, so I decided on an enclosed carrier. After discussing this with Graham at Amerifreight, I placed an order. Graham gave me guidelines as to what to expect, we negotiated about it a little and then Graham offered a couple of ideas as to how to proceed. The communication from Amerifreight was very good and very comprehensive. The company that took my job via Amerifreight was run by a Marine who does this part time. He was very good about scheduling and then meeting his schedule, particularly as I was out of town at the time and couldn't be there at the pickup. There was a problem when the car was picked up in that I believed it would start, but apparently it didn't. Nonetheless the man who'd contracted the job managed to solve the loading problem. There then arose a question as to an extra charge since the auto didn't start as I'd represented it would, and due to telephone tag the question wasn't settled settled by the time of scheduled delivery which was the very next day. The man made the delivery in spite of this not being settled, which I appreciated very much as he could have held up the delivery, pending an agreement on an extra reimbursement for his extra time and trouble. But instead he relied on my sense of fair play, upheld his end of the bargain, and I subsequently upheld mine. I would use this man again in a heartbeat and appreciate the job he did.
