We moved cross country from southern Ohio to norther California with 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 cars, and a whole house of stuff. Our car moving was one of the easier bits of the move.
We went with two different brokers trying to save some money: AmeriFreight was quoting me a price about $400 below the other broker, but needed a bigger window for pick-up. Our plan was to move one car whenever for a cheaper price, and then keep and use the other car until we pack up the house. Unfortunately, AmeriFreight was not able to find me a driver with the original price. My agent also never called me for any updates once he got a deposit. When I called on the day of my flight and wanted to cancel my order, he was able to find me someone to pick up the car the next day, but for $300 more than the quote. At that point, I was tired and frustrated and just wanted my car moved.
I've used AmeriFreight 3 years ago to move the same car, and they were much better at communicating with me last time.
Bottom line, AmeriFreight was able to get my car moved around the time I wanted for a little less than the competition. My car arrived earlier than expect (not a problem since I had already flew out), and was just dirty. There were no damage to the car, and it was very securely strapped to transporting truck. The driver (different company) was courteous and called a day before he arrived.
I would use the company again.
