United Road is a broker. You pay them to hire someone else....in case you didn't know. This leads to lack of control over the process as evidenced by mu experience. I used them as I saw that E-Bay refers them as one of their transport companies. I have shipped four cars within the past 5 years and none were as poor as this. The car was picked in Chicago on Friday May 13, 2011. The estimated day to arrive in California was to be Friday May 20th. ON Thursday May 19, I called twice and was n hold for over 10 minutes and I called later in the day and was transferred and disconnected. So I sent an e-mail. I simply asked if my car was still scheduled to arrive the next day. The response e-mail said it was scheduled to arrive the next day and provided the driver's phone number. I called twice and left two messages. No return call from the driver. I cleared my Friday schedule as I assumed that the car was to arrive as confirmed by the e-mail. Friday came and went and no call or car. On Friday I tried to call the driver again, no return call. I thought the car may be late and arrive on Saturday and maybe the drivers phone was dead. I called United on Saturday and sent an e-mail and they don't work on the weekend. No car arrives over the weekend and no calls on status. Now if I had not initiated the calls and e-mail I would not have been able to speak with anyone. Until this point no one was on top of this monitoring this delivery. Monday I spoke with a rep from United Auto. They wanted to to give the drivers number as the driver was not calling them back either. I told them he doesn't call me either. Monday afternoon they get in touch with the driver and reschedule for Wednesday due to bad weather....i understand.....but a call would be nice. Wednesday comes and once again I have to call United, rather then them calling me, to let them know the car has not arrived. Thursday they tell me its coming on Friday. It arrives Friday, May 27, one week late. Filthy with dirt and obviously been sitting out for a while. I paid for enclosed transport. From May 25 to arrival on May 27, Cassandra was helpful. Thanks to her. Pam promised a discount due to pathetic communication late arrivals...$50.00 dollars...which I declined. I would rather warn you. My advice, hire a transport company that handles the delivery, not the broker. A lesson learned.
