Originally contacted them and talked to a guy named Zack. He misrepresented the company, stating they were "not a broker" and that the other regional brokers basically contact them (SYCN) to move their (other broker) vehicles. (That is why I should use them, cause another broker will have to call them anyway). He stated they had their own trucks and gave me a reasonable price to ship my car from NH to WA. We settled on a price that was a little below his initial quote, because he told me he was giving me a military discount for being a veteran. Still definitely not the cheapest, but thought it would get done by going middle of the road. When he emailed me the contract, it specifically states they are a broker, but I didn't care if the guy embellished a bit if he got the job done, which he said they absolutely would, he even pretended to be arranging inventory on their trucks to accommodate my vehicle. A few days later, we contacted them to ship our second vehicle. A second vehicle, same address, same pick up date, absolutely makes it easier to move the cars with a carrier. To ensure no hang-ups, we even offered to drive our vehicles to Hartford, CT or Boston, MA, if it made it easier, they declined that offer, said it would have "no real impact." He provided the same quote for the second car, no deal below what he said I already received, but I could live with it. He asked for a two day pick-up window and told me we were all set. He told me he was juggling the inventory on their trucks to make the second vehicle work. On the first day of our pick-up window, another guy named Justin called and stated they wanted another $700 to ship our cars!!! He gave me a long story about why, but I told him I'd rather talk to Zack. He transferred me to Zack, who proceeded to tell me a different story, but still gave me a bunch of lies about how the Department of Transportation reissued fee schedules, and they (DOT) mandated the extra money! Why not just blame Obama? After wasting my time with more BS, they eventually said they would ship our vehicles for an additional $500. This amount made them the most expensive of the more than a dozen brokers I received quotes from. I did ultimately have them broker the contract because I valued my time more than the pain I would go through getting my initial deposit back. **While determining my options though, I asked if they would refund the $500 deposit and just part ways, they said, "No, we don't work for free." They specifically said they intended to keep the deposit money. Justin said, "that is why we have contracts and lawyers." Before accepting the "revised" contract, I did call a lawyer. He said I could absolutely sue them in small claims court, would probably win because they basically changed the contract terms, but then judgment does not equal payment, etc. Long story short, it would waste a lot more of my time and they wasted enough of my time, I basically had to accept their bait and switch tactic and lies in order to move my vehicles. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN FOR ANY REASON, NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE, ESPECIALLY MY FELLOW SERVICE MEMBERS. YOU WORK TO HARD FOR YOUR MONEY TO BE SWINDLED LIKE THIS. FYI: The company that transported the vehicles is in no way affiliated with Ship Your Car Now. After all, SYCN is a broker...
