Despite being assured that I would be contacted by telephone from 12 to 24 hours prior to pickup and my granddaughter would be contacted by telephone from 12 to 24 hours prior to delivery, neither was done. The vehicle was picked up two days late, and I got a telephone call from the driver, saying "I'm at WalMart; where are you?" He was pleasant in person, however. I assured him as well as his dispatcher that my granddaughter MUST be telephoned in advance, so that she could arrange to be available, not underway (she is in the US Coast Guard). This was NOT done, and I got a call, saying they couldn't contact her. Not surprisingly, she was indeed underway. When that was finally worked out (and I do not know all of those circumstances), it was 10:00 pm, and he wanted to deliver the vehicle immediately. She pointed out that she was unable to get a cashier's check from her bank at that hour. At that point, I again talked to the dispatcher, and he said, well, although they had earlier given me permission to pay by cashier's check, they really needed cash, because the truck driver has to buy gasoline. (!!) Eventually, my granddaughter got a ride to a JC Penney in a nearby mall, where she had arranged to meet the truck. But the truck was so late that her ride had to leave her there. Then, the truck driver called and told her she must come to a WalMart, instead. Since she no longer had a ride, and the WalMart was more than six miles away, he was finally convinced to come to her. Just before the vehicle arrived in the Seattle area, the dispatcher called me and said, by the way, we charge a $150 unloading fee - which had never before been mentioned. I called the broker at AmeriFreight, and this problem was taken care of for me, immediately. My granddaughter finally got her vehicle, and I hope never again to have ANY contact with Quickway LLC.
