I received a quote from Nate McMahon of Diamond Line Transport to ship my car from Upstate New York to Miami, FL at $375. This rate was several hundred dollars less than any other quote I received from other companies. I was assured by Nate that he could obtain shipping for my car at this price because of his knowledge of the shipping routes and rates and his relationship with the truck companies. I also provided him a coworker shipping 2 additional cars to and from the same locations and was told he could most likely get a discount from the truck because of the 3 car bundle. Nate collected a $150 "deposit" and would not provide a contract. He told me outright at the beginning that the cost could be slightly higher than the quote, but that if I was unhappy with the final price I could decide not to go with that quote and I would be given a full refund of my deposit. I began the process 2 months prior to my move. Along the way I contacted Nate several times as our move date approached to try and confirm the shipping but was told he was having a hard time finding a truck but was working very hard to do so. My coworker was forced to move prior to his car being shipped and was at his destination for over a week without his car being picked up. One day prior to my move, I was contacted by Nate's dispatcher to tell me they had a truck to pick up my vehicle and my coworker's two cars 2 days later at $500 PLUS my deposit for a total of $650. I told the dispatcher I was unhappy with this price hike and wanted my deposit back. He told me only Nate could give my deposit back. I called Nate and told him I was unhappy with the price and felt as though I was lured into a bait and switch with the original low quote and that I wanted my deposit back. He told me I was being insulting and there was no way I was getting my deposit back whether I shipped with him or not, because he did his job. I disagreed because the price was almost double the initial quote and he had told me in the beginning that I would get my deposit back if I wasn't happy with the final cost. I reinforced my desire for my refund back and Nate became very aggressive and told me I was making a huge mistake because I would not be able to find any other company to ship my car because he had to beg someone to take me car. I called a different transport company, and within ONE HOUR they had found a truck to ship my car for LESS money on the same day Nate proposed. I told Nate I was not going with him and I was going with the new company and he told me that he would go out of his way to delay my car being shipped. When I told him I would be writing this review, he stated that he would SUE ME for trying to negatively impact his business and that he would win because he had done this to other customers. He also stated I broke a "verbal contract" and that he had recorded all of our conversations without my knowledge. OVERALL, I found Nate McMahon and Diamond Line Transport very unprofessional and unable to deliver on anything they promised. My business was initially given to him because of the significantly lower price he promised me. Once he was unable to deliver on that, I rightfully took my business elsewhere and worked with a more approachable company that wasn't threatening, didn't take an upfront deposit from me, and provided this service faster and cheaper. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND NATE MCMAHON.
