Had a boat shipped from Seattle to Orange County. Shippers picked up from Seattle on Sunday said they would deliver on Monday which seemed fast to both myself and the broker I was going through. We confirmed that was truly what they meant and then went from there. On Monday I tried to call shippers a couple times to find out when boat would arrive so I could meet it. When I got ahold of them they did correct that it was actually a Wednesday delivery and not a Monday one. When Wednesday came around I again was trying to call them to get a firm time on when they would arrive. They had blown a catalytic converter on the way down and would be delayed another day. Not a big deal, but I would figure they would do some proactive notification. Thursday rolls around and they are supposed to be there at 9. I call at 7 to confirm and they let me know it will be closer to 10. Around 9:30 I call to double check and they let me know 11 is a more accurate time. Los Angeles traffic can be bad, but I would assume all transporters would use Waze or Google Maps to see live traffic. I waited in the parking lot for an hour and a half and they they inform me that they are still over an hour away. I go back to work and wait there and the boat comes around 2pm. The cover had been taken off by the wind and the two drivers gave me the ol' should shrug and acted surprised there was a cabin cover on the boat. So boat was late but I get that mechanical issues come up. Mostly my problem was I had to chase these guys down to find out every issue along the way. Also boat cover is going to be a large expense likely as much as the transport down cost.
