Never ever use Andrew Auto Transport

I requested quotes online to ship my son's car from Maryland to California. He is going to school for a semester in Napa and I wanted him to have his car for the three months he was there. Former Army vet as well. Got a quote from Andrew Auto Transport for $808.00 which was the lowest quote I received. Most ranged from $900.00 to $1,200.00. I entered into a contract with Andrew Auto Transport on a Tuesday. Had to pay $169.00 up front. DO NOT EVER DO THIS!!! Car was to be picked up no later than Friday/Saturday to guarantee delivery on time the following Saturday. I was out of town and had to try and coordinate everything from North Carolina. By Saturday morning not even a sniff at a carrier. Gabriela kept assuring me that everything would be fine. Well, it wasn't. So I was contacted by another transport company asking if I still needed a carrier for my car. They told me about the big board they all use and they told me that Andrew Auto Transport did not even start looking for a carrier until Saturday and they were offering $950.00 to transport. Now if you add $169.00 and $950.00, you will see that it does not add up to $808.00. They intended to (if they ever got a carrier) hold my son's car ransom once it was delivered unless we paid the additional monies. I ended up contracting another Transporter who I would recommend highly. Navy Auto Transport. Cost me $1,190.00 but they picked it up Sunday Morning and delivered it right on time. When I emailed Gabriela inquiring about any kind of refund, I got crickets. No response at all. I would not use this company again if my life depended on it.
